"Ron, what do you think of Shanklin?"

"I don't think I can express an opinion, Eth. I've never shankled."

Where is that from? (This is both a test of age and a test of cultural history.) Laughing

I don't really know but i vaguely remember a radio show [i think] called the Glums, which i seem to recall had characters similar to the names that you quote.I thought it was Ed Glum though,as i say its very vague.

The Glums it is. I chanced upon a broadcast on Radio 4 Extra yesterday. Still good.

Don't know the Glums, but my Round the Horne and Julian and Sandy CDs take a fair old pummelling.

"Did you drag yourselves up on deck?"

"Ooh no - we was quite casual!"

"Hello, I'm Julian and this is my friend, Sandy".

Round the Horne - used to be essential listening on Sunday lunch-times (I think). I clearly didn't understand most of it then. What they got away with ......! Very Happy

And its still having re-runs on Radio 4Extra.
