What you have is somebody who doesn't really like you very much, using your young 'girlfriend' to paint a picture of you as the pervert and getting at you.

Rather sordid, maybe?  I personally think "family" should be kept out of it, but since you've bitten big time  and retaliated in a stupid fashion, you've done yourself no favours.

Anybody with any sense would have made a private complaint and taken it from there.
