This summer saw Louis Rooney and Callum Hall being offered their first professional contracts at Argyle, and Adams says they have to benefit from training with the first team: "They are in the first-team squad and that's the way it has happened.

"I do believe the system is wrong, where you go from under-18 football into first team football. There is not a gap between the two and that is due to finance as well. There's not enough money to go around for a reserve team and that's just the way it is. They have to train every day with the first team and get the benefits of that. Play reserve games when there are reserve games and they will be ready to progress when the time is right.

"They will have the opportunity to play some games, it would be for more of a fitness thing, in the Peninsula League on a Saturday or Monday that will give them game time. But obviously, they have to play at a higher standard to try and make them develop."

There has been no progression on Adams' search for new loan signings, but he is still working at it: "There is no one else coming in at this point in time, but were working away in the background to try and achieve that and maybe over the coming weeks we'll be able to do that. I'm still working away in the background and just assessing what we need. We're obviously limited to what we can do but we're still working."

"It doesn't just depend on me it depends on the other club. If it was to happen before the start of the season then that would be great, if not then we'll deal with that."

I agree the youth do need to show they are worthy of a first team place (excluding hall n rooney)

Trying to sugar coat the situation..we all know the budget is crap..and were going to rely heavly on youth he has no choice but to play em..he cant really say i dont think there good enough can he he's got to say that..personally the first year/youth pro's are not good enough.if anythink they need loans at conferance level if not lower to help with there progress

Tuesday, 1 September, at 18:00 BST is when the transfer window closes.... will del bhey bring in another 3-4 on loan to give us an competitive squad?

Even the reluctant one must realise that he's acquired a manager of no mean ability and if he were to back him, the increased gate receipts resulting from a championship chasing season, would more than cover the investment ?

What is more likely is that come late autumn, with us hovering around the play off positions, he will get his farm jamboys and the gazebo gang to start the bucket rattling in earnest, to pay new players' wages. Wouldn't be so bad if the club was owned by the fans but it isn't and jimmy is still trying to cash in.

When the real season starts we have 5 games in 14 days. They will have to play at some point (unlike preseason) unless we plan on running the team into the ground.

One more definitely needed.

We have a decent manager who has been hoodwinked by the reluctant one.

4 more like we only have 18 players. Smalley is out inuired, Hall and Rooney are not going to feature at all. Oh make it 17 as Bittner is out too. So more than 1 is needed.

I too agree that to put forward any kind of bench that we need more than one. Dont expect DA to get the backing for more than two though.

I too agree that to put forward any kind of bench that we need more than one. Dont expect DA to get the backing for more than two though.

exactly the emergency loan system is gone so if we get injuries/suspensions we are screwed if del bhey cant pepper up the squad in the next month. long term loans would have to be it as brent wont fund permanent signings.

This doesn't come into effect until the 2016/17 season. We still need a RM as the bare minimum though. Plus a couple more really.
