Taxes (sigh) Empty
PostSubject: Taxes (sigh)   Taxes (sigh) EmptyMon Jul 27, 2015 7:00 pm

This is the first year I've had to do my own Self Assessment after years of letting the accountant just get on with it. One of the perks of having my own individual account is the Government kindly tell me where my 2013-14 taxes went. All very predictable with welfare, health, education and state pensions taking the lions share. The one figure that did jump out and hit me between the eyes was my personal contribution to the interest on the National debt...809 quid What a Face  It kind of gives me a different perspective when they are wittering on about reducing the deficit and  reining in the burgeoning ND.
