In West Devon this morning it is little bit hazy, with a bit of high cloud but the sun is mainly out, waiting for the big bank of cloud to race over the sun soon.
I'm outside doing some welding so I have my PPE all ready. sunny

Still hazy here but a definite shadow on the ground so should be in luck, kettle boiled, back out there.

There was watery sunshine here and some clouds. It was quite difficult to see a difference if you didn't know there was an eclipse. However, I did see the sun with a chunk missing from it which is more than I saw in '99. The wildlife took no notice and carried on as normal unlike last time when they thought it was coming dusk and started their night 'chores'.

Here in NAbbot it is very cloudy. Far too cloudy to even be able to tell where the sun is. It's a bit gloomier than usual and quite cold.

Crows squawking and returning to their roosts is about the only sign that anything unusual is happening.

Thick cloud over NW Kent.....so no Sun or eclipse visible......but at the time it happened it was obviously just a shade darker.....meaning that the Suns rays where not shining against the back of the clouds at that time.....which I had not really thought about before.

What a letdown, no darker than a cloudy rainy day.

At 9.30 I think I just missed the half way point, could see it perfectly through a little haze, was quite cold.

If I looked to the south east, where the sun was it was hazy, looking to the west it was completely clear, had a really good view with the welding goggle I took some photos I may post one later.

I've just read that you can get an eclipse wind, there was a cold wind from the north which has gone now, was it normal wind or what?

I saw it from North Cornwall and it was a bit rubbish. No birds going mental, no darkness bit of an anticlimax. 1999 was better even though we couldn't see the sun.

The opposite happened here, we've had a steady breeze for about 36 hours, then over the period of the eclipse it stopped only to blow up again later.

My brother in law was on the M5 and he said it was carnage with everybody still driving at eighty and trying to rubberneck the eclipse, couple of cars ended up on the hard shoulder and nearly a bad pile up, he didn't know what caused it until after.
