That's the worry isn't it? Good idea in principle but I'm not sure how it would actually work.

Good idea.... but that is all it is, all parties are coming up with good ideas......because it's that time before a general elections again.

Bringing these ideas to fruition is only a problem if you become the next government......and then your ideas get watered down......because you find out how the previous administration left the economy in such a broken state....or that is the excuse that will be used.....they are all the same.

We're being told how this government has got the debt down that Labout left......if that's the case ...how come they have borrowed more than ever......all the same whoever is in No 10.

How do they enforce this in Germany? It obviously can be done, if the will is there to see that it is, because it happens there.

The obvious answer to this is for the representation to be given to a club's Trust. This obviously pre-supposes that there is a Trust to begin with but from there the obvious person would be the Trust Chairman or somebody chosen by the Trust.

The idea that a club chairman could nominate a choice would render the scheme completely meaningless.

This proposal is actually in general accord with recommendations made so far regarding the Football Governance Bill (due before Parliament in November) and discussed here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This, or something like it, is not a million miles away from being adopted by this Parliament never mind waiting for Labour to gain control, if they do, of the next.

Quote :
This Conservative-Liberal Democrat government actually wrote into their coalition agreement that they would “encourage co-operative ownership of football clubs by supporters”.

Its a good idea but i feel a clubs trust should hold 10-25% of a club and have a seat on the board with a member voted into that position for a number of years with voting powers.

That way we are all safe in the knowledge brent cant simply give a seat to nool or webb then as they would have to stand for the seat via the trust cheers
