You made me smile there tbf. Passing off Italy as 'old hat', whilst putting comma's in a post. I'm a big fan of irony you see.  Thanks/OK

It can't be much fun, people laughing at you rather than with you, is it?

We likes a bit of banter. Who else used to say that before he banned people? Anyway Croatia is meant to be nice and is on my list to visit along with Prague, the world is a big old place innit?

Prague was one the best weekend breaks I've had. Fantastic for eating, drinking, architecture, photography and history. Bloody cold in February though!! albino

I see there's a few good shouts for Lake Garda. We're "in the process" of heading for there this summer but haven't booked anything yet. Are the "package" firms any good (Thomson, Thomas Cook etc.) or do you sort out your own travel and accommodation? Have been to Garda before but that was in 1974!

Either way suits us. We had a good week in Cyprus with Thomson a couple of years ago but last year did Madrid & Barcelona ourselves.

Any recommendations for good hotels? I hear the airport transfers can be quite lengthy and that "packages" have some ridiculous flight arrival and departure times.

Any info welcome. Thanks!

Give the money to charity...

I didn't have a clue where the picture was taken and haven't been to Cambourne in thirty years probably..

I took a snapshot of Mapperley's picture on my computer screen using Google's "Goggles" app with my android phone, and it told me.

Amazing!!!

Ha ha - even more techy geeky spooky is this............. (by the way Ricks -that was a pretty cool way of finding out where it it is, but.....................)

If you open up google, instead of a normal Google web search, choose image search and then drag any image you want into the search box, voila!! Camborne!!  lol

Anybody who wants some recommendations for resorts / hotels in the Swiss or Austrian Alps, just ask. We've spent most summer holidays in the Alps in the last 20 years with the odd visit to the Italian Dolomites. The rest of Italy has some very nice places as well.

IMHO walking in the Swiss Alps beats the hell out of cooking yourself on a Spanish beach. A damn sight more spectacular too.

If you fancy some winter sun and some lovely culture and old town feel then book a break to Seville in Spain, some of the best tapas I've ever had and I've had a few. I was there last February and it was 80 degrees, lovely.
