Job for Dane

TWO NEW LADIES TEAMS

Yeovil Town Ladies FC are delighted to confirm that next season the club will grow by adding two new teams.

The Club is to create a new third senior team, which will likely play in the Somerset County League. The objective in creating this team is to allow more opportunities for women to play football, as the number of females wishing to play the game continues to expand rapidly in the Yeovil area.

The club also see the third team as an additional way for players leaving their own Youth system to continue to play for the club and develop their game. In previous seasons the step up from the under 16 team to the first or reserve teams has been large for some players having never played senior football and the Glovers hope this new third team will help address this issue and help us develop them through the squad system.

In addition, the club is also launching a new youth team for next season which will play in the Under 11 age group. As with the new senior team, the club see this new Under 11 team as being a vital part of it’s policy of trying to increase the options for Women and Girls to play football.

Both of these new teams have been made possible partly by grant funding from the Football Foundation and Yarlington Homes which means the Glovers can get more girls playing within the club and in local schools.

Commenting on the news of the new teams, Club Chairman David Mills said “The creation of these new teams underlines our commitment to increase the options for girls and women in the area to play football. Obviously we are grateful to Yarlington Homes and the Football Foundation for their help with this project and full marks to Sarah Lawler (Joint First Team Manager) who did a huge amount of work behind the scenes to make the creation of these two new teams possible”

The Club is also on the look out for Managers for these two new teams and any one interested should contact  Yeoviltownlfc@gmail.com
