Oscar Pistorius thread

Should we really be making jokes at that womans expense and the guys disability even in the circumstances.
taking things a little too far in my eyes.
just wondering what the mods thought.

Whilst I am not a mod......I heard a few of these very mild jokes at work today and I also heard a mild one on the radio, that would indicate to me that society is generally accepting of this type of mild joke and, if it's acceptable in society then it should be acceptable on ATD.

It's not a general mocking of the disabled, it's a single mocking of a possible murderer. There's a world of difference.

don't get me wrong I like a joke and can take alot aimed at me cause if I didnt laugh at myself i'd be dead but i just think this has been taken a little too far.

best one i heard was the you cant out run the law in south africa as oscar found out

Exactly. A joke is a joke and I tell paedophile jokes, jokes about the latest celebrity to have died etc and it means nothing.

I have first hand knowledge of disability and the illness I have has made me pretty immobile myself now. I need crutches to walk and my mobility is getting worse.

I posted the poem about Oscar pretorious on Facebook earlier and my partners father who has cerebral palsy was the first one to lol at it.

Tony Hooper made a complete tw@t of himself on Pasoti with this kind of thing, let's not be in his gang.

oscar hasnt got a leg to stand on after being charged with murder.

After reading some of the above I think Oscar jokes should be banned on quality grounds.

He's guilty. He wrote a valentines day card for his girlfriend and the police found it.

His defence won't stand up in court, he hasn't got a leg to stand on and his solicitor is stumped as to how to get his client an innocent verdict.

So relieved they found this evidence to clear Oscar.....................they found footprints outside......... sorry !

Because the initial thread was a complaint about the jokes but it got turned into a jokefest.
