I actually thought Engelbert did very well for his age, and his singing was spot on.

That's never been the recipe for success when it comes to Eurovision. Maybe he should have made up a stupid name to make him stand out a bit? Pimplebum Rinkydink or something.

great show (as usual), uk entry was absolutely shocking. its not 1974 any more.

we have NO bloody idea, typical media over reaction - lets pull out cos we cant win it !!! or it costs too much in other words, well maybe the same should apply to the world cup as we dont win that either.

the problem is we let the sat eve talent show 'experts' /judges decide & thats the problem in my view. they aint experts in anything.

just get someone who can write & perform.

lloyd webber did ok & he should have been used again. we wont win it whilst we use has beens ie Blue.
people laugh at jedward but at least they perform (to some extent).

all thats required is a beautiful singer & a great track that sticks in your mind.
simple.

We could put Adele in for it and she'd still lose handsomely ! It's political.

Makes me howl every year when Greece n Cyprus ALWAYS give eachother 12 points. If I sang for Cyprus they'd still get 12 frikkin points from Greece lol!

I'd quite like us to use the slot to promote something which does have a serious 'scene' over here...be it DnB, Jazz/Blues, dubstep or whatever. Trying to match the Europeans at their own happy clappy poptastic game seems a bit perverse when it's only 10 year old girls who are still buying records over here. We're different from Europeans, cut from a different cloth.

No point. I think we do need to beat them at their own game. But can this be bettered? I think not.

i'm pretty sure that this is only shown by the BBC so it can tick off two demographic boxes on its shows to cator for that comes with its licence. Also the voting is very political but this we know.

Eurovision Song Contest must be near the pinnacle of world culture. And Freathy's link must be at the very top.

Humbled beyond words.

Denmark odds on, but it's definitely catchy and 50-1 with 4 places is decent odds, especially as it's being held in Scandanavia.

The only problem is I would have to watch it if I bet on it Razz

you can get some decent prices, theres always a shock or two.

match bets can be value ie Armenia to beat Azerbaijan but these only become available on the day itself.

each way betting is a must-1/4 odds isn't bad for what it really a lottery at places 3 & 4

The excitement builds, the crowds gather and the band dust off the tools of their trade. The Swedes declare their love of Norwegians and the Greeks declare a vocalist war on Germany as the Irish vote for anyone as long as there’s no English connection. EVERYONE HATES US BUT WE DON’T CARE!

The big day has arrived and the Brits unite, so come on Bonnie, bring home the glory to old Blighty!
