Not convinced in all truth. Bit of mixed career, no idea what the standard is in Belgium as compared to the championship so we'll have to wait and see. If it does go tits up and becomes the third duff appointment in a row then serious questions need to be asked but let's hope it doesn't come to that-welcome and good luck.

Rubbish appointment. Dewsnip had no hand in this so maybe he wasn't to blame for the last 2 disasters afterall. Hallett does not have a clue what he's doing. We are down.

Hmmm. I'd rather have had Schumacher or Wagner than this guy. I mean at least he's had some sucess at senior level, which puts him above Rooney and Foster, but it seems another risky one. His last team did beat Hearts and Kilmarnock this season in european competition, but I'd guess they are both the equivalent of league 1 quality at best. Does seem that at Cercle he had his leading scorer sold at the end of the season in each of the last two seasons, so at least he'll be used to the way Argyle operate!!
Another 3.5 year contract - why do we keep hobbling ourselves with these long contracts. Give hiim 2 years and if he does well in the first year look to extend it!

3.5 year contract is insane when he's being sacked in May.
HALLETT OUT NOW!!!

Let's hope he was made aware of Argyle's interest as soon as Rooney was sacked so he will have had a chance to watch a couple of our games so he will hit the ground running for the 3 crucial games coming up. Hopefully he will also have a few ideas about who he wants to bring in.
Although if he has seen us play, and still taken the job, he's a very brave man.

Strikes me as another experimental gamble and on the cheap When clearly what is needed was a experienced championship manager manager at this time been there done it before & worn the tee shirt type who could get in there roll sleeves up & get stuck into the relegation battle that we have ahead ..but instead somebody that’s of No experience of the championship have we got enough time for someone learn on the job I don’t think so And iam not being funny who’s advising hallett in these so called massive decision’s surely he can’t be as stupid as some of these blatantly stupid decisions that he’s made …but keeps making em So this is the last chance saloon of trying to save our championship status and I don’t think the music man will save us to much to change in so much little time not enough time to adapt to the championship unfortunately or maybe just not good enough for a good ole championship relegation ding dong to start with

Listened to him being interviewed by Kraakhelder.....over 30mins of interesting chat.
He could be just what we need.....he has managed a similar situation before and succeeded
Seems to be a student of the game highly intelligent views of how to manage.....he could be a fantastic catch.....we where never going to afford a proven EFL manager on our budget.
Complete opposite of Rooney who tried to teach players to perform like Premier players....and just didn't know how to adjust his coaching to the ability of the players he had....it looks as if Miron Muslic a 42yr old Austrian/Bosnian will coach what he has in front of him and not try to make them something they're not......need to get behind him and support him to succeed in keeping Argyle in this division.
He'll be watching from the stands today as we take on Brentford in the FA Cup.....starts next week.....will he have a few target players to try and bring in that he knows can do the type of job he needs to do.

a baffling appointment to me i won't lie.
I was one of those that wanted Schumacher back or if he couldn't be then we went in for a tony mowbray or david wagner but it seems all 3 don't like being micro managed under the system he have in place now days with little to no say in anything hence why i guess we go for those like foster and rooney and now this guy who dont mind having their players bought for them, told who to play, who to have on their coaching teams, told how to play using the clubs preferred tactics all of which any manager worth their salt won't want to work under such strict conditions.
I've seen in different places online people who never heard of Muslic till this week like all of us saying what a great manager he is after reading wikipedia or simon's same old bs words he uses when he's hired someone cause he got a team that he didn't put together come 6th and 4th in the belgian league after their playoffs. The belgian league is nowhere near as competitive or hard as the championship its a different world and quite frankly it's used as feeder league for the bigger leagues and used as such especially for work permits. What isn't mentioned, he was sacked twice very quickly after being hired in austria and with one of those teams lost 7 out of 10 games scoring 4 goals and conceding 28. His overall record is mediocre at best his win and loss record virtually the same and all of his teams concede alot of goals at the same rate as they score them so to me his way of setting teams up is attack attack attack but in a direct style but no emphasis on defending and right now we need to tighten up at the back its a style that will be open to being exploited if he is one if those that doesnt learn to adapt.
As baffled and dumb founded as i am with this hiring as i truly thought the board learnt their lesson about hiring people based mostly on data led analysis, or their playing days fame or how much they waffled on in an interview after Foster and Rooney seeing as they both proved us all right that they would be a disasters. Sadly, the board don't appear to have learned a thing about their recruitment policy so i feel this appointment will be simon hallett's hill to either die on and sell up and move on with his life as the fans are not going to happy if he's screwed up again or plant his flag and cement his legacy as an owner here.
I'm not happy as stated but with that said i accept the decision and will give him the benefit of the doubt so i will be fair with my backing of this new guy and i do hope he proves me wrong and is a success. But i can't lie i got the exact same feeling that this is going to end in tears that i had with foster and rooney and i dont think it's unfair to state now that he won't see 3.5 years here no matter the reasons but it is going to cost the club alot to pay him off if he isn't the success we all hope he is if he is sacked. So i hope simon covers that out of his pocket as we are still paying off foster at least rooney walked.
Since we returned into the championship we are now on our 4th manager/head coach. We must be catching up with watford for the turn around rate here.

On early showing it looks like hallett has got it badly wrong again. If Schumacher was in charge against Oxford I really don't think we would have dropped another 2 points at home. Same if Nance was in charge. Muslic is not what we need, certainly not for Championship survival. Unless hallett is looking to establish Argo as a sustainable L1 club.

i wasn't expecting his input to be noticed after one training session and an Mikel Arteta meets Tony Robbins esq team speech that was rather cringe tbh but anyways i hope to see his input on this side on saturday against QPR which will be a tough game and a good challenge for him.

the club need to stop playing that speech over and over again at games as its starting to lose its appeal to the fans.

Especially when he serves up putrid performances like today and Oxford

here is his press conference post match. the usual management guff spouted but chris errington asks one question that was interesting when your starting 11 has whittaker, hardie, baidoo and al hajj and you only register 1 shot on target something isnt right.

i do question whether it was wise for the club to go ahead and sign Baidoo for the same amount of money we sold Gibson for and Puchacz on loan while we were looking for a manager head coach rather than let whoever they hired which in this case MM asses the squad as quick as he can after a game or two and training and then said to the board/head of recruitment i need desperately need a full back, 2 centre backs, a ball winning midfielder a creative midfielder and 2 strikers while i can do without all these players at the club now providing a list and then we could see if Baidoo and Puchacz fitted his style that he wants to play in the hope we win more games and stay up. I know head coach here isn't in charge of transfers but they must have a say and once again if simon is going to make these gambles he needs to back them up to succeed.
