| Argyle now looking for at least three people now. DoF, manager and coach to replace Phelan (two if they replace Ireland as well)
The way they got rid of Rooney, Phelan and Ireland at one go suggests to me that they have already decided who they want as Manager and that he has insisted he brings his own people with him. Also, the new guy is an experienced Manager who wouldn't take any interference from Dewsnip, hence his departure.
I think this rules out Steven S as Hallett wouldn't swallow taking back 3 people who walked out.
I don't have any idea who it will be but my money is on a Manager with "top flight" experience, either here or abroad who's recruitment will be described as "a coup" for Argyle.

| I assumed that dewdrop was leaving because of the shit appointments of Foster and Rooney. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! | Dewsnip departure now confirmed by the Club who will now "relook at the football department"
So no idea when or if he will be replaced.
Presume MM and the recruitment team will be in charge of transfers in/out for a while.
Hopefully MM has a few ideas about who he wants both player and coachwise. |

| so long dewsnip. He may have helped raise the profile of our youth system that's still nowhere near as good as exeter's still after all the investments its had and is getting. He also helped bring attention to the women's team that despite the club's best efforts trying to promote them as if they are in the womens premier league they lack serious investment to reach levels worthy of them playing at home park and in higher leagues but none the less for that yes he can have a thankyou.
However, when it comes to the first team, good riddance to him, he helped bring in that data led analysis shite that yes found us a few gems but also found us alot of dross. He helped take away authority from the managers role and reduced it to a head coach which has set us back alot in terms of growing into a championship side cause we are cutting costs especially when it comes to transfers and forcing yts players to play when they are not ready for this level as a result. Lastly hiring two coaches that no business coming here based on him knowing them personally and both where a meltdown in the jobs leading to his role here to end.
Im sure he will be replaced in time hopefully first team affairs get left to the head coach/manager more so and not having the head coach used as a figurehead while the director of football pulls all the strings. |

i'm sure he will have increased powers compared to what foster and rooney had but ultimately he is still employed to be a head coach not a manager so the club will at some point replace dewsnip whether that's in the exact same role or slightly reduced one. Hopefully we get someone who can improve on dewsnips work with the first team but isn't a puppet master where his interfering harms the head coach especially when it comes to transfers. |

| Pulis had Brian Horton as DoF when he was at Stoke, but everyone knew Pulis was the boss! |

Director of Football isn't a defined role where it has the same meaning and the same power/roles/influence at every club. It's down to that club what they have a director of football do in the role at their club. Brian's role may have just been admin based and a go to between the board and manager but i highly doubt he was signing tony's players without his say so or agreement we all know Tony took the manager's role seriously. |
