Nigel Pearson for me.

Has got WBA and Leicester City out of similar situations to Argyle. Also good experience of the Championship.

Not a bad shout- better than Schumacher imho, the latter would split the fanbase after the way he buggered off last time.

Looking increasingly like it's Schumacher. Heard he was at HP today. As was Baidoo.

Don't laugh but................has anyone else noticed that Ian Holloway seems to have turned round Swindon since joining?

Too old to be the Manager now but I'm thinking he could do a job mentoring an up and coming Manager/coach.

All the experience of 1000 games as manager shouldn't go to waste. And I'd rather have him back than SS.

but also didn’t dewsnip & Rooney try to get him in also in the summer ? So was it a recruitment policy by the club to try and sign him anyway
And still sticking with it even after there sackings

If Dewsnip wanted him that does ring a few alarm bells. However, with a hallett budget we can't afford what we really need - Championship standard players.

Also, the new manager needs to be in place before Saturday to give him at least some time with the players. But it feels like Nance and Joe may be in charge again for Stoke.

Baidoo may well be a good player but like El Hajj he will need time to adjust to the Championship. Just as we need a manager who knows the Championship we need to bring in players who can come into the team and be effective right away. Signing 2 or 3 players who will need half a dozen games to "get up to speed" could cost us 10 or more points that will mean the difference between staying up and going down.

Baidoo not signed yet then. Perhaps this one has gone belly up. Hallett budget strikes again?

No manager announcement either despite the club saying Nance and Joe would only be in charge for Bristol City. Think they may also have to be in charge for Stoke.

Yep, I'd love that to happen too. Think he's still "getting there" in terms of his health though unfortunately. I think he'd be a really good fit otherwise.

Certain amount of hurry up needed with this appointment! Hallett and the board surely knew Rooney's position was untenable weeks ago so they should have acted before now and got a new manager in place before the transfer window opened. Baidoo was obviously sorted way before Rooney left but there won't be any other movement until the new manager is in place. We only have a miniscule hallett 'budget' to bring in the three to four players that are urgently needed so we need more time than other clubs.

Hopefully rather than go for the easy option, they will go for a manager with a proven record at this level, who will have his own ideas of who to sign that can make an immediate difference.

Baidoo might well be a good player but like el Hajj it will take a few months for him to get used to this league

They are taking liberties with how long this is taking. The farm is bed wetting. the angst on there is something to behold.

They do need to get a move on.  There's a rumour Walsall refused permission for us to speak to Walsall manager Matt Sadler (great name for a Walsall manager).  Not that he would have come here anyway as he will be in L1 next season anyway, probably with a bigger budget.  If the board thought they had  a new manager lined up before Rooney's sacking it certainly doesn't look like they have one now.

Now David Wagner turns down Argo. Was always going to happen when hallett showed him his wages and playing budget. No chance of a new manager before the end of this month. Reckon it's Nance and Edwards until the end of the season.

I'd be happy enough with nance and edwards, continuity is good in our current situation I believe. We do however seriously need to strengthen certain areas of the squad, a proper striker being no1 priority imo, someone who can win a header from a set piece would be nice.

But is that for Head Coach or Director of Football, or both (ie Manager)

Or even for the sports physio vacancy?

Approaching midway through the xfer window with a game tomorrow and still no sign of a manager being appointed.  Wonder how many have turned as down.

HALLETT OUT!
