| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Still sad in a way because some of the early stuff looked quite promising but those away results dictated that it had to happen and the club was basically sleepwalking into relegation. Didn't dislike him as a person and wish him well in whatever he does next but doubt very much that he'll get another management post in a hurry. Now for the tough bit-getting the next appointment right. The last two have been fairly disastrous and time for the powers that be to approach the issue on a practical basis rather than using data, metrics or whatever it was previously-there are decent managers available but quick action is needed to at least have a try at getting the club out of the shit. |

| He should never have been appointed in the first place. Dewdrop needs to go as well. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! | At last!!! Wanted him to succeed but this diabolical run could not continue without drastic action being taken. Would have been pointless him staying for the xfer window as things simply would not have improved. Rooney is not and never will be a coach or manager. |

Agree Dewsnip is completely untenable. He and his shit data analytics cannot be allowed to bring in another crap scouser! |

| Phelan and Ireland also gone. Phelan clearly did not improve things so no loss. Nance and Joe Edwards take charge for Bristol City! Hallett will obviously go cheap again and keep this interim management team until the end of the season.
DEWSNIP OUT! |

| Yeah he had to go, shame as he really did come across as a nice bloke who wanted to prove himself. His leaving statement is class too.
I can't believe I'm saying this but get Schumacher back ASAP. He can hit the ground running. |

| As others' have said, should never have been appointed in the first place. I fear the damage is done already and it'll take a miracle worker to get us out of this mess given the sub-standard players signed under Rooney's watch. Phelan leaving 22 days after being appointed - doesn't say much for our decision making!
This line caught my eye "First team coach Kevin Nancekivell and Club Captain Joe Edwards will lead the team for our Sky Bet Championship match against Bristol City on New Year’s Day. Daryl Flahavan will continue as Goalkeeping coach."
Previousy Dewsnip has inserted himself as manager/co-manager when a permanent manager has left, but not this time. Does that mean he too is on his way? I hope so as these appointments are ultimately his fault. An alternative is that he is waiting for the injured players to come back/ an easier game to appear, before suddenly installing himself as co-manager again! |

| Rooney could stay in football perhaps as a No2 to somebody at L1/L2 level. Needs to learn helluva lot before being a manager/head coach again. |

| It's the top story on nearly all the on-line news sites! That didn't happen when Foster was sacked LOL |

Or is the writing on the wall for him as well? The Club needs to decide who they want (without input from Dewsnip)_and do their best to get him in asap. None of this "applications on a postcard please with a stage one interview in a month's time" crap. Identify your target (NOT a previous manager) and go get him

Or is the writing on the wall for him as well? It should be. Both managers he brought in have been poor. |

| I'm thinking that the next DoF will be someone to oversee the Brickfields project rather than the first team.
Wouldn't be surprised if Paul Tisdale is under consideration given his history with youth development at Exeter. |

| I think we may get an announcement tomorrow naming the new manager and his coaches, it will also say that Dewsnip "has taken this opportunity to seek a fresh challenge" |

Identify your target (NOT a previous manager) and go get him if rumours are to be believed there going down the Schumacher route and another rumour he’d only accept the job again as long as it’s not working with dewsnip make of that what you will …but not Schumacher for me once your done your done Be trust issues to start with plus his last 3 months were dreadful and some of the teams he named were baffling And was struggling with tactics would he have turned it around when stoke came calling maybe maybe not who knows but I think I’d opt for someone new instead |
