Seems there waiting for a statement to be made They're probably all thinking there's absolutely no way Rooney won't be sacked today so let's all get down there to be first on the scene when it is announced. Little do they know hallett and the board would rather be relegated with record low points than do what is needed. |

| Does anyone know if Rooney is actually in Plymouth today or did he go home after yesterday's debacle?
Rooney in Cheshire, Hallett in the States, probably no senior figure at Home Park today and they've left Pilgrim Pete in charge. |

| Clearly Rooney not going anywhere, at least not before the defeat to Bristol City on Wednesday. Joke club and laughing stock of the entire EFL |

| Just some random thoughts:
If SH is in the States does he really understand how poor the team is? Dewsnip could be feeding him a slanted view of performances in order to support his protege, Rooney. SH certainly doesn't get the depth of fans' feelings atm.
Also with SH being an absentee owner he certainly isn't able to "network" with the leadership at other Clubs. So he isn't getting any of the "gossip" about which managers and coaches are punching above their weight or which managers are ambitious and would be receptive to a move. So SH has zero idea of who the up and coming coaches are, meaning that to replace a manager almost inevitably means going through a lengthy process of advertising and interviewing. Whereas most of the Clubs who have recently changed manager get their chosen replacement in place in a few days.
This reliance on Dewsnip means that any necessary changes are delayed, hiring replacements becomes a long drawn out process and worst of all, that Dewsnip is virtually unsackable. |

| Then we consider the straightforward maths of Argyle's current situation.
If we say 47/48 points is the minimum needed to avoid relegation, then we need to garner another 30 points. From 23 games that would mean matching the results so far of Norwich/Millwall/Preston.
Give Rooney another two games (which we lose) then we are talking 30 points from 21 games which would be top 6 or so form.
If Rooney lasts longer than that (without an upturn in form) then we are talking having to hit promotion form to have any chance of staying up. But by then the transfer budget would have been splurged on more L1 or overseas "prospects" like Ogbeta or "looking for a final payday" dross like Gray.
On the other hand, SH could grow a pair, dump Rooney & Dewsnip and hire a decent Manager like Mowbray with the offer of a huge bonus for keeping us up. I'm sure a decent manager would be able to assess the squad, decide who to ship out and target who we should bring in within a few days. |

| If they were getting rid of Rooney before the City match they'd have done it today, so think he'll be in charge for that one at least. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The recent appointment of Phelan until the end of the season + the coming transfer window, makes me think that Rooney will be here for most of the rest of the season. If they were thinking of ditching Rooney I don't think they would have let him bring Phelan in. Suspect Hallet thinks it's too expensive to sack Rooney's now, even if the cost is relegation! Hope I'm wrong, but that's my take - Rooney will get the opportunity to fix this mess in this window. |

| The longer he stays the less chance of avoiding relegation. Personally I think it’s already too late so he might as well stay. We would at least be a warning to other clubs that rooney as a manager is a total loser. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! | I think it's pure negligence on the part of hallett and the board not to remove a manager who is failing to the extent Rooney is. It does seem our championship status and the fans mean f*** all to hallett and the board. |
