Lincoln City are interested in signing Plymouth Argyle playmaker Callum Wright in the final couple of weeks of the summer transfer window.
City and Michael Skubala have already made several additions in midfield, with Tom Bayliss, JJ McKiernan and Conor McGrandles all joining the club following their departures from elsewhere across the EFL.
And despite being well-stacked in their engine room, Wright is now on their radar ahead of the August 30 deadline.
If Wright can keep himself injury-free, Skubala could have a real gem on his hands should all parties get a deal over the line, and it will help boost the Imps' play-off ambitions.
Lincoln are very keen on securing a deal for Wright from Home Park before the transfer window closes on August 30.
The 24-year-old is an extremely gifted attacking midfielder, but in his 52 games played for the Pilgrims, he has only started 25 times, and also spent a significant time on the sidelines last season through injury.
Additionally, in the opening fixtures of the 2024-25 season, Wayne Rooney has only used Wright as a substitute, so the ex-Leicester City man may be keen on securing first-team football elsewhere.
Sincil Bank could be an ideal destination for Wright, but with the 24-year-old still having two years left on his Argyle contract, Plymouth might demand a substantial fee for their midfielder.
