| Plymouth Argyle v HULL City Plymouth Argyle and Hull City meet at Home Park on Saturday afternoon looking to record their first Championship win of the season. There are far more eyes on Plymouth this season than there normally would be with Wayne Rooney at the helm, and that may have played its part last Sunday. The Pilgrims were comprehensively beaten by a ruthless Sheffield Wednesday side that run out 4-0 victors at Hillsborough, leaving Rooney with much to ponder. A home EFL Cup tie against Cheltenham Town quickly became an important contest to ease a bit of pressure, everyone involved aware of the criticism that would come Rooney's way with defeat. While it took an hour for Plymouth to break the deadlock, they were able to come through by a 3-0 scoreline, three of their attacking players netting confidence-building goals. Attention now turns back to the Championship with Plymouth attempting to extend their unbeaten streak in competitive matches at Home Park to five matches. HULL CITY Had a 1-1 draw against Bristol City last weekend, Oscar Estupinan netting a last-gasp penalty to earn a share of the spoils versus the Robins. The Tigers then went down 2-1 to Wednesday in the EFL Cup with all three goals being scored in the opening 10 minutes, Their manager Walter will hope that it is an isolated incident, yet Hull are now at a stage where they have failed to win in 10 games when taking notable friendlies into consideration. Argyle TV’s coverage will begin at 10am, with the new Argyle Breakfast show, hosted by Erin Black and Aaron Cusack. They will bring you build-up, interviews, guests and features throughout the morning, from the Argyle TV studio. Erin and Aaron will return at 2.30pm, for the pre-match show, live from pitchside, as the atmosphere for the fixture builds. Commentary for the game will be provided by Charlie Price and Marc Edworthy. Match passes to watch this game are available to international audiences (VPN WILL BE IN ACTION A LOT THIS SEASON) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Referee Leigh Doughty is the man in the middle He will be assisted by Hristo Karaivanov and George Byrne The fourth official Alex Chilowicz is on duties. | Hull look wobbly at the moment - paying the price for unecessarily getting rid of Rosenoir. However I'm not convinced whatever system Rooney in playing actually works. The late goals put shine on an otherwise unconvincing display against Cheltenham.
Argyle 0v1 Hull. |

| Yep Argo were shockingly bad for the first 60 minutes or so against an understrength League 2 side on Wednesday. Improved massively after the substitutions but the team is in dire need of some quality in CM/ACM - which we're not going to get because of hallett. Really can't see us getting anything from today, in fact it will be a another horror show like last Sunday..
Argo 0-3 Hull City

| Think we'll win this one. Carvalho and Philogene have gone from Hull and they weren't all that good down here last season anyway, nothing to really fear. Could be famous last words but feck it
Argyle 2 Hull 0

| Well at least we didn't lose as expected. But as usual too many mis-placed passes and giving the ball away. Hull looked far better than Argo when in possession and looked far more dangerous on the attack. They were able to keep possession better and also slice through our midfield like it wasn't there - and indeed it wasn't because we don't have one. Argo spent more time passing back to Hazard than trying to play it forward. And Hazard's time wasting when we were only drawing was baffling.
Cissoko, however, looked head and shoulders above everyone one else in the team and perhaps even on the pitch! Toulouse will definitely recall him in Jan. Not sure why he was taken off. Of the subs, only Gyabi looked like he might make a difference for the better because the rest are not championship standard.
This time last year under Schumacher we would have won that 2 or 3 -0 . It would have been another Huddersfield or Blackburn type game.
Not good

| Decent, committed sort of performance today in a reasonable game-for a team which was apparently "cut open in midfield" Hazard had remarkably little to do. Randell, along with Mumba was one of the best players on the pitch for my money, Forshaw was pretty good too on the whole. The one criticism i would level was the lack of ruthlessness when going one up because Hull were not in the game in the second half until their goal-maybe one of the reasons that Sissoko was hooked was because their player ran about 50 yards from midfield with the ball to set up Coyle for an admittedly excellent finish. Thought Whittaker worked as hard as i've seen him for a while today, rather unlucky with a great shot which shaved the upright.
Overall a massive improvement on the debacle last week but disappointing result, genuinely thought three points were there for the taking today. Still need some strengthening and from what Rooney said this morning some players could be on the way out as well-could be an interesting week for comings and goings |
