Watford Game

Good afternoon ATDers.

I have a spare ticket for the Watford game and wonder if anyone would like it - just £35 (I'll even cover the extra fees).

May as well use this one now as Match thread.

Well the players may have a little excuse if they turn in a shocker tomorrow. Most of them have just been stood up on a rammed FGW service to Paddington.

Using the railways at the moment when there are multiple disputes resulting in huge numbers of cancellations….ain’t the brightest idea Argyle have ever had.

They would have been buggered by road as the M5 was closed nearly all day

And the 303 was a Cnut the other day!

I can vouch for that I travelled today absolutely rammo the trains the one I was booked on ..train manager made announcement that there was no reservations on the train even if people had reservations for some reason so it turned into basically a free for all it was insane I was lucky grabbed a table and forward facing ..there were bodies everywhere and to cap it off 40minutes late as well time we eventually got to Paddington

i would be very happy with a point to be honest. Watford will be a very tough game and maybe one that brings a few fans down to earth about how tough this season will be. I have faith we can be competitive and get a point today though. Watford are a good team but they are a batshit crazy club behind the scenes no stability on the pitch managerwise so maybe we could nick it.

Completely unacceptable by the club.  Argo will have known GWR (like all rail operators) is a complete basket case and can't be relied on for anything. If the M5 was a no go they should have coached to Newquay and flown to London City.   Argo behaving like a National League South club.  Not good enough.

Plus the defence needs tightening up for this one !
Can’t afford to gift em chances like we did against Huddersfield cos this watford team will bury the them kind of chances & half chances all day long there one of the top sides in this league ..and if we don’t keep it tight and concede early goal this could turn into 4 or 5-0 outing if we’re not careful so we’re gunna have to up our game throughout the whole team …I’d take a point here all day long

Very optimistically predicting 1-1 with a Whittaker strike.  We can't go by Huddersfield as a benchmark of what to expect from most opposition this season.  If it wasn't for Leicester and Southampton I'd have Watford down as top 2 finish, but they'll certainly be top 6 come next May.  Going to be VERY tough today and the first of many tough tests for Schuey and the team where they are going to have to dig very deep.

Early doors into the season so Watford still not in full flow. Still think they’ll have too much for us. I’m going 2-1 Watford

Can’t understand why the club are getting the blame for train drivers not being rostered and for not prophesying there’d be a serious collision closing the M5 nearly all day.

I will take a point today, this will be a tough one.

Kesler-Hayden being out is a massive problem for us.  Might have to revise my optimistic draw prediction.

Schuey needs to make some changes as were being battered and being done for pace.  Not going to hold out against this level of intensity for another 45 minutes without some changes.

very happy with that point 0-0 i'll look forward to seeing the highlights later but a draw at vicarage road is no mean feet.

I'll take that! Great effort today by Schuey and the team! Especially defensively.  Watford walloped QPR 4-0 last week at Vicarage Road so 0-0 there a very good result!

Good stuff, clean sheet away from home. Haven't followed the game, looks like a bit of a backs to the wall job but there's certain to be a few of them this season. Set up for a good 'un against free scoring but defensively open Saints next week.
