Argyle’s fourth signing of the summer is goalkeeper Conor Hazard.

The 25-year-old heads to Home Park, from Scottish champions Celtic, for an undisclosed fee. Conor has signed a three-year contract.

From Downpatrick in Northern Ireland, Conor became a Celtic player just after his 16th birthday, in 2014. His first taste of first-team action came in 2018, when he joined Scottish second-tier side Falkirk on loan.

Hopefully he can kick on and show himself to be a worthy stand-in till Cooper is fit.

Let’s see what he can do before he gets mullered

Well I hope my view doesn’t come to fruition and he has a fantastic career at Argyle. 24/25 is still a young age for most keepers so he may still have some development requirements. Trouble is the games come thick and fast in the Championship so he needs his confidence pronto or it’ll be a long hard season.

Apparently the fee was £150k, which seems a lot for a 4th choice goalkeeper who's only recent match experience is a season in Finland! Nice to have another GK option with Cooper injured, but with money apparently tight it seems a bit of a strange purchase.

You would have thought there was probably a player available for free/minimal £ with similar experience.
