Wigan and MK both lose at home!

Shows they're not invincible.

With the way things are going we could still still fluke automatic promotion!

Getting a bit squeaky arsed with Wednesday winning tonight though.

Five points from 3 games just to catch the two sides above us for promotion and both of them pretty much losing from here in.

It's what's over our shoulder I'm looking at now.

Realistically the play-offs are pretty much out of the question now.  Even if we we did somehow sneak in due to the highly unlikely  event of all other results going our way (which is what we have to rely on now) we know we cannot hope to compete against the other teams who would be involved in the play-offs.  This season is over and all in all it has been far more successful than anyone could have envisaged back in August 21.  A 7th or 8th finish is very good for a team of Argo's meagre means.

Rolling Eyes Very Happy With Edwards and Hardie out plus a bad run of form it's not ideal but we play Sunderland on Monday and beat them and we have a five point lead plus superior GD which is worth a point with two games to go, this is still ours to lose and I won't write us off until its impossible for us to achieve it, MK on last day is also a team we could beat, never rule out the underdog.

I don’t think we’ve been performing well for several weeks even in the games we’ve won, so I’m not overly confident of reaching the playoffs, really hope I’m wrong, definitely missing Hardie and our skipper, incidentally who was the skipper against Wycombe?

Shouldn't be relying on other teams, if we have to do that we shouldn't be up here

Wednesday 1 Crewe 0
Oxford 1 MK Dons 0
Burton 2 Rovrum 0

If Argyle somehow win at Wigan on Saturday then an automatic spot is still possible-Rotherham play Oxford and Sunderland in their next two games, Wednesday are at Wycombe and MKD play agent Adams boys lol! Realistically though, getting very sticky indeed for a play off place-could be the first team in history not to reach the play offs with 80 points.

Need at least a draw at Wigan and a win against MK last day, two wins would seal it but very unlikely. Personally I am quite upbeat we still have something to play for unlike most of the teams in most leagues.

Play offs are now only a mathematical possibility but not at all realistic given a) how poor we are b) who we have to play and c) how the other teams around us will keep picking up points.  We will finish a very respectable 7th or 8th.  Season is most definitely over.

Top three certainly seem to have the jitters-we are probably playing Wigan and MK at the best time.

Well it's in our hands, there is that.

I guess the goal (what's one of those) is matching whatever Wycombe do.

So it's come on Sheffield Wednesday - beat Wycombe on Saturday then ensure MK have nothing to play for next week.

We're all (south) Yorkshire folk for a week aren't we?

Positives are that we are two points ahead of Wycombe and Sunderland and our GD is worth a point on both of them. Negatives are injuries and a game in hand for Sunderland but we still have six points to play for, it ain't over until Freathy sings.

I have a feeling one win maybe 2 draws would do it. Thinking in terms of Wycombe lose or draw to Wednesday and beating Burton.

Can't see us getting far in the play offs whoever we end up facing!

Me neither I just think after being this close it would seem like a total collapse not getting playoffs, that being said it's only 3 games and we have gone on better runs than that.

Agree with that. Not to reach play offs WOULD be a failure notwithstanding subsequent performance or predictable "we over performed" missives.
