My first thought was its much deeper than I thought.....Photo estimated around 1895 as was built over 8 year period starting 1891

If you look over the downriver side of the dam it gives an iidea of the depth of the valley not sure if it's silted up much but it's pretty deep. Pretty sure I saw some photos that showed a bridge crossing about 100m above the dam.

That's the one, the bridgehead is still visible on the other side.
