How can this even be needed with the UK the 5th biggest economy in the world and we gave away taxpayers money to the tune of £13.1 Billion last year in overseas aid
Will be exceeded this year.

What sort of insanity allows this to contine where kids are hungry and parents go without and war veterans sleep on the streets. Vote Corbyn and at least even if you cant stand him acknowledge that food banks would be a thing of the past

I personally think we need to worry more about domestic aid to Foreign owners of our utilities and transport plus all the subsidies to oil and gas companies.

The Country is a Sovereign State with its own central banking system. It can't go bankrupt. Try getting that bit right at least!

Facts are facts. The majority of food bank patronage is by people who are in employment, the same demographic of employed people who are the 2nd largest beneficiaries of the welfare budget behind state pension recipients.

Quite a few facts and truths about foodbanks and their service users that people don't know.
Main fact is less than 10% of users are actually 100 reliant on state benefits. As I alluded above, the majority of it's users are employed people, some full time.
When I was a civil servant, we had a requirement placed on us that we had to do one afternoon of community volunteering a month (it was called volunteering, but we were still effectively being paid, just not in the office)
I did mine at a foodbank in Wood Green, North London. I wouldn't say I was shocked by seeing working people using the service, was more surprised that this demographic made up 94% of the branches patrons.
One case that shocked me was a single mum of two teenagers who was a full time school teacher. Her rent accounted for 70% of her income alone, and that's a professional ffs.
If that alone doesn't explain what's wrong with society, then nothing will.
Universal is definitely not the root cause of sone foodbank usage either. UC in comparison to some of it's equivalent benefits is actually more generous. The fault lays with the claimants who blow the lot (including the rent element) immediately after it hits their bank, then have to wait a calendar month for their next payment. I sat in on several think tanks with the DWP during the transitional rollout and this claim that people go 6 weeks without any money is totally and utterly false as once a claimants journal was set up, an advance payment (including rent) could be applied for and paid into the claimants account within seconds.
I absolutely despise the Tories and their values of what they stand for, but UC is being used as a political tool against them, the same way that they themselves use washed up employment figures of marking a single mum who flogs one item a week on Ebay as self employed and pays her tax credits instead of paying her income support just so they can be marked as not unemployed for the statistics.

Must have missed that response previously. Care to explain reference your highlighted passage and the 30  lol!   ??
Perhaps you're suggesting Corbyn would say fine no problem lets build the foodbanks even higher and the amount of roof sleepers....

To quell foodbank usage, you first need the government to get tough on greedy capitalist pigs who exploit workers on minimum wage and zero hours contracts, the latter needs to be banned completely. But this will never happen as the Tory's wont bite the donors hands that feed them.

I see one of PASOTI’s finest who spent most of his time mocking and criticising the trust appears to be heavily involved with the food bank.

Priceless

PASOTI the gift that keeps on giving.

No matter what your views. This year's annual AFT food bank appeal has been a resounding success and is to be applauded, imho.

Nobody said it wasnt, and nobody here is saying anything otherwise. It is the anti trust individuals on PASOTI that change tack at the drop of a hat when it suits them and their agenda that disgusts me.
