Will the Spanish government crush the Catalans?

At least the Tories have neutered our Army and Police Force so no chance of such brutality here.

Teddy May will probably send Spain some troops to help, she's not a fan of these splinter groups.

There'll be plenty of diplomacy all right .... gunboat diplomacy, Palmerston style. Do as I say, or I'll clatter you. Fascinating when the myth of REAL democracy is shattered by the wishes of a rich powerful elite running big capitals like Madrid. No "Catexit means Catexit" there. I suspect there will be millions of brexiteers over here not wanting local democracy for their respective Catalans over there.
Has anyone noticed that the Beeb website recently has, apart from the usual police brutality that happens at all big public events,  only shown picture after picture of gorgeous sultry Catalan young females draped in their flags ? almost heroic and Jean Brodie esque. Rather different than the females hobbling up through Central Park or being lifted into Jim's fan fest today, that's for sure. Talking of Jean Brodie, I suspect if Auntie were reporting on the same independence push happening in Scotland, the pictures would be of angry snarling toothless ne'er do well thugs.

No doubt at all Catalonia will be forced into line and there will be no independence for the region. Spain has FAR too much to lose here. Also makes it far less likely there will be Scottish independence as there's no way Spain would ever allow an independent Scotland into the EU as that would send out completely the wrong signals to Catalonia and the Basque Region. Not that Scottish independence is an issue anymore as they voted nae in the referendum and there's now diminishing interest in independence in Scotland and the Scots Nats are growing evermore unpopular there.

What difference will any of it make? Maybe downsizing will be the new globalisation although why anyone would want to rock the boat and upset the current model of how we run the world is beyond me? It's been such a success, for everybody.
