All to play for surely? Some of the posts on this thread really does reflect the high levels of anxiety about not just getting promoted but getting out of this shit league.
Like any other team in this league if we get promoted then we are good enough, just like teams that aren't good enough for the league - they go down.
More concerned about the psychology of the squad given the expectations of the fanbase and the faliures of last season.
I thought Kevin Nolan had some good insights about the game on Tues , as a recent top flight ex player, he readily recognised the pressure on the argyle team on Tues, and his perception that the home fans undermined the performance, although you can understand peoples frustration at watching such a crap performance.

Instead of using your time to wind up other posters and write shit bantzzzz, perhaps you could share what you think of the timing of yet another "Same old Argyle" sermon from Cowdrey?

In fairness, what is Adams supposed to say? He did well in Scotland with one up front, and has done well here too. Not a lot of fun to watch, which is why Saturday will only be my 4th game of the season, but we're second.

If we fall away again, a lot of hard questions will have to be asked, not just of Brent, but of Adams. That is not going to look good on his CV, no matter what the reasons. He's going to stick with what he knows, not go about changing his system this late in the season.

The armchair manager jab, and the general tone of the article is totally uncalled for. While certain people will slate anything that comes out of the club, after Tuesday's performance, surely a 'we understand your frustrations, but this is the way we're going to get promoted' article would have been the way forward?

I appreciate it is intensely annoying being told by people who have a fraction of the knowledge of what goes into managing a football a club offering up mind numblingly simplistic solutions to the problem as though it is staring him in the face all along. I understand that just because a team lines up with 1 upfront, its doesn't have to follow that it will end up that way. At the same time it must be annoying knowing that even if you did line them up in a manner alien to the players if the result goes against you, the manager carries the can.

I understand the frustration but this is the nature of the beast and comments like this serve no purpose other than to alienate and appear as though its a case of getting excuses in before the inevitable collapse.

Cowdery and Starnes are two peas in a pod. They have a clear contempt for the everyday fan, and do not like it one bit when that everyday fan dares to pipe up and criticise.

The fact the two of them are still in a job is one of life's great mysteries. They've played their part marvellously in making PAFC a laughing stock with the Liverpool ticketing debacle followed by overseeing a blind mans installation of the temporary seating. What gives me hope though is that Hallett (imho) isn't of the same 'Keep Argyle Village' mindset as those pair and Green Jim.

Their days are shorely numbered.

I agree czarky, apart from the wishful thinking. They're a pair of horrors, and Dunsford wasn't much better. Just ask yourself what sort of character gets involved in pro football administration when they weren't particularly football orientated as a youngster. It's a weird place to end up, and probably attracts the wrong sort more often than not. Add to that the disrespectful stereotype that people hold of footy fans from the players right through to the policing authorities. Even I struggle to cobble together positive thoughts when football fans as a mass hove into view. The mindless passive aviva thing is not the height of human endeavour, is it.

Sadly, I doubt Hallet will be any different from the Brent thing. His career would suggest he's out of the same mould,. Again, wishful thinking. The same superfans and admin will still be installed under a Hallet regime, should it happen. Why would he want to change anything ? to what end ? He's looking for a safe drip feed haven for his money at his age, wth an easy pass on to his kids, not a clean sweep of the local Toad Hall that certainly hasn't interested him for most of his life. And where's Toddy these days after his gamble failed ?

I sometimes think I'd rather have a Victorian mill owner heading Argyle than some of this modern profiteering corporate executive class that have been skimming fortunes with little talent and actual wealth creation. At least they made a few jumpers to wear or use as goalposts.
