Bum moulds in the shape of the Beatles to be installed on Plymouth Hoe


To celebrate the unveiling a special concert by The Fab Beatles will take place at the Athenaeum on Friday, November 27 from 8pm

(I thought that the Athenaeum was closed down)

About as stupid an idea as you can get. I thought pcc and the uni honouring napoleon with a monument was as low as you can get.

What about a plaque commemorating our greatest ever Plymothian placed on the rocks by the old diving boards.

It could read ' in honour of Tom Daley who would have dived from these boards if only we hadn't pulled them down".

With a motley crew of hastily assembled troops, in a battle Wellington himself described as 'the nearest run thing you ever saw in your life'.

Napoleon is one of the greatest conquerors and military minds in the history of mankind. Worth commemorating that he was out there in the harbour, foreshore (get it!?)

A bit like Plymouth calling some media phone-in show, giving their best "celebs I've met in a restaurant" story.
It's all getting a bit embarrassing these days, and I assume it's not just Plymouth. Maybe it's a modern blue plate phenomena looking for the candy floss return.
Is it intended to bring in the dollar, is it intended to imbue some culture and heritage on the bum/Napoleon hosting city ? I don't really know. Does anyone have a positive view on it that makes sense ?
Plymouth had a good proper heritage site on the Hoe, called the Domes. It's now a media chef cafe.ffs

im all for a small plague marking the spot where the beatles sat to take the picture but the pcc idea of putting arse prints on the spot and they wouldnt be authentic beatles arses either it is ridiculous to do it.

Maybe Harrison's arse should be incorporated in a new crazy golf course.

If we are talking generals BTW, George Patton stayed in Plymouth when he arrived from the USA to prepare for D-Day. Eisenhower and Churchill also met just up the road to discuss plans for the invasion of France.

Blows my mind how much history Plymouth has, and it can't get its act together to produce a museum to show it all off.

happend to stumble across the "unveiling" today walking home and there had to be at least tens of people there to see it with more media than people like itv and those disgusting cvnts who ran a story today making out a bomb went off in town the herald.
