FourFourTwo Season Preview Empty
PostSubject: FourFourTwo Season Preview   FourFourTwo Season Preview EmptyTue Aug 04, 2015 6:11 pm

Was a subscriber to this mag for a while till like with alot of mags FHM, Rugby World Top Gear mag for example the content went down while the price went up but i still buy it aroudn this time of year for the season preview bit of the mag as they always make for interesting reading.

One year this was done by LG of pasoti who embarrassed the green army with his utterly aviva like answers to the questions and saying he wanted to take luggy out for a pint for all he has done. (this was done after we were relegated)

Anyway to save you guys £5 here is what a fan called Called Daniel Waldron a season ticket holder of 10 years said on the fans behalf in this years edition. FFT predict we will finish 8th and Exeter will finish 4th :S

This season will be different to last because? We have a new manager who will give youth a chance and play decent football. (clearly didn't watch some of the games then last season)

Our most underrated player is? Lee Cox, He's physically strong and does the simple things well

The player i'd happily drive to another club is? Jason Banton.....but thankfully Sheridan's last move as manager was to release him,

The Best Away ground is? Portsmouth Poor Stadium, Great Atmosphere

Save the date for? Exeter at home on November 21. Its always nice to watch us beat our local, poorer rivals. (they seem to have more money though :S)

This season we will finish? In the playoffs, if we sign a few good players

FFT asks: How important will Reuben Reid goals be in another promotion push? Reid played the last three months with an injury... if he'd been 100 per cent we could easily have been promoted/ Ig we keep him fit he could hit 25-plus goals a season. (dont agree with him at all here as the lack of squad depth played a bigger part than reid going missing after his hat trick at st james park.)

Cheers for that Angry. I like the previews but never look too much into the prediction table, certainly not with League 2.. It's always wrong for a start!

Here's the two unfortunates preview. Their take on Argyle seems pretty reasonable:

Despite the month long lull between the Pilgrims’ play-off defeat to Wycombe and new manager Derek Adams’s appointment, Argyle go into the season with new-founded confidence. Adams, the former Ross County man who himself appears to be fully rejuvenated following a short spell out of the game, has impressed with his decisiveness in the transfer market, having brought in Jake Jervis, Gary Sawyer, Gregg Wylde, Graham Carey and Josh Simpson in a quick-fire spell of activity and followed those signings up by securing Hiram Boateng on a six month loan from Palace. The jigsaw isn’t quite complete yet – the squad still looks rather threadbare – but the core of last season’s team remains intact at the time of writing and if player interviews are anything to go by then it appears that Adams will get more from his players than his predecessor did. Things could be brighter off the pitch – the long-discussed plans to develop the Grandstand are dead in the water for now and the club still has to pay the balloon payment owed to creditors after their spell in administration – but the signs are that Argyle should again be in contention for a top 7 spot.

Verdict: Chasing the Play-Offs

They tip Cambridge, Luton and Portsmouth for automatic promotion.

I used to be a subscriber too, but most of the magazine is now adverts or very sterile interviews. I've been buying When Saturday Comes for years now, but I do always buy the pre-season edition of FFT.
