ATD member appointed Club Secretary

ARGYLE have appointed Jon Back as the club's Football Secretary.
Lifelong Pilgrims' fan Jon, 47, succeeds Jason Turner, who left in early July to become General Manager at Newport County.

Jon, a Plymothian, joins the club following a successful police career which saw him recently retire as Chief Inspector in the Devon & Cornwall force.

He said: "I have worked with some of the country'’s most senior people in British policing over the past few years, helping to form, govern, and administer complex organisations. I am really looking forward to bringing the skills and experiences that I have developed during this time to my new role at Argyle, helping the club to develop in all areas off the pitch."

Jon will take up his role in early September.

Its good to see ATD slowly taking over the club. First Ricks was appointed an ambassador and now this. Rumours are that Freathy and Tring are joining the Argyle Angels but we are awaiting confirmation.

Mr Corporate Governance tried to get his feet under the table with the PASB and failed. No surprise to see he's got this gig. More jobs for the boys.

I've had my fair share of disagreements with Jon but making sure the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed as Football Secretary seems to be a great match to his skill set. Wishing him all the best.

can he answer phones and make tea though? or is he just one of the lads brought in

I think the " administer complex organisations " might just have tipped the scales.

It certainly couldn't have been his previous football experience.

I fail to see how this appointment is anything other than bad news, another Yes man joins the Circus.

But anyone getting paid will be a 'yes man' or they won't be paid for very long.

All the times you were asked to come back here and answer questions after you had used this forum for your personal gain in the PASB elections and you didn't!

And now you have the gall to show up!

Why don't you fully explain your 'friendship' with Brent. Is this how you got the Job? You mislead us about that relationship when you were running for the PASB.  You ended up pretty much publically admitting that he had personally helped you out and therefore you could never criticize him...
