Between the fortunes of Argyle and Bristol Rovers this season.Struggling badly at the turn of the year, both clubs bring in experienced managers with decent track records and reputations.Relegation duly avoided, high hopes expressed during the close season that better times lay ahead for both, yet the two clubs now find themselves entrenched in the bottom regions of the league once again. The two clubs have shared a fairly similar sort of history in terms of supprt and achievement but this seems to be carrying things to extremes.Wonder why this should be? Expectations over optimistic? Something very wrong in the basic set up in both clubs? Whatever, very puzzling that the two clubs seem to be in a kind of parallel universe.

Our current problem is football being not on the list of priorities for the owner.  As for Bristol Rovers it's bit of a mystery why they're stuggling.  They've always been massive underachievers compared to Bristol City though.

Somebody on exeweb flagged up an even more interesting (unfavourable) comparison that was made between Avon's number two club and Devon's current number one by a Rovers supporter on their forum.

Can someone explain to me how a team with a Centre Back pairing of
- an ex-Rovers player who was consistently suffering from knee injury, could not hit
a crossfield pass to save his life and was thought by us to be on the way down
and
-one of the worst loan players seen at our club who preferred to tell everyone else what they
were doing wrong rather than shoulder blame himself
*
....supplemented by a CM player discarded by City in 2005 who was unable to hold down a place at
Newport and Bath in the Conference and can barely break into a trot
*
*
are BLUDDY third in our league!!!!!!!!!!!!*
