I deleted my account because I just got fed up of seeing threads created purely for personal attacks on either Ian Newell or Chris Webb or other threads being hijacked for the same purpose. I joined this site in the belief that it was another avenue for discussing all things Argyle. What I hadn't expected was the personal attacks from people hiding behind their keyboards. It's obvious that a few on here have deep rooted problems with Ian and Chris and yet you can't go to the trouble of seeking them out on a match day and discussing it with them. You're currently having a go at Tony Cholwell but again it's from behind a keyboard, no one will seek him out and accuse him to his face. It's more than likely because you don't attend games and have no interest in Argyle.
With over 350 members on this site I thought I'd get in the habit of putting a link to Greensonscreen once the photos were uploaded and online. Even that was high jacked and used to launch yet another personal attack on Ian, hence I stopped doing it.
I even thought you were going in the right direction with the site's sponsorship of Robbie Williams, which I contributed to, but sadly that's forgotten when people discuss this site because of the nature of the majority of the threads on here.
I don't know why I re registered, maybe it's because I have a few friends who use the site as, believe it or not, there are some good people on here who are Argyle fans. I did so only to find that another thread had started attacking the goodwill of some of the Senior Greens in wanting to do something for the club. Something that mean't a little bit more could come off the staff debt rather than spending it on a company to carry out the work. The people that you criticise, Ian Newell, Senior Greens, Chris Webb the GT's etc have all helped to reduce the staff debt from 350k to 250k in 10 months. That's why the staff will be paid a lot quicker than the 5 years they had to agree to.
I've no doubt that now I'll get accused of being a poodle or an Aviva, so be it, I've got a thick skin.
I've just decided that this site isn't for me as, yes it's Democratic, but there's very little Argyle Talk on here.

Nobody disputes the good work Ian Newell has done for the club, and yes you're right that too many threads do degenerate into another attack on him, but see the thread Yeaman started today where he has received threats via e-mail, and the only place that has had his e-mail address who would want to send such threats would be Pasoti, and from Pasoti mods.

I would accuse Tony Cholwell to his face, or on here again, but he has decided not to post on here anymore, and I am exiled.

That's another point where Ian Newell comes into the thread because it was he, several times, and Chris Webb who told me in no uncertain terms that it was Tony Cholwell who was the P.I. hired by Lee Jameson to track me down.

So if you are disappearing again Bob, why don't you ask Tony and Ian together which one is telling the truth on the matter? Unless of course you are accusing me, and everyone who saw Ian Newell's comments on Cerbera's ill fated site, of being liars.

That doesn't fit in with your agenda though does it Bob?

I won't bother going into the matter of Peggy being called a witch and a whore and being removed from her feature in the matchday programme, or the many, many other dirty tricks that have emanated from Mr Newell, who in one of many conversations I have had with Chris Webb, has been described as a madman when it comes to online forums, and in particular being obsessed with this one to a point where on away trips he is constantly logged in checking on us.

And it isn't worth mentioning the 10,000+ posts he has made on Exeweb, because I suppose they have all been friendly banter?

Yes he has raised fantastic amounts of money for the club, but in my opinion he is a madman and has caused lots of decent people, Argyle fans, enormous distress, so the crap he gets back is justified.

I hope for the sake of Greensonscreen that you never fall out with the man, because I think you would see an entirely different side to Ian Newell that might change your green-tinted mind about him..

Oh and please stick around long enough to tell us what both Ian and Tony have to say on the subject.

I for one would be interested in finding out if someone who is a firm friend of James Brent and the Club President, and gets to sit in the Directors Box, is a downright liar, or if it is someone who will almost certainly sit on a board that will have some kind of say in the running of the club, due to him being friends with the right people on Pasoti.

I won't hold my breath though.

Most, if not all, of the Newell/Webb/other threads are confined to the block 16/away board and are kept off of the main Argyle discussion board as much as possible.

Viewing the Mayflower board you will find lots of Argyle discussion.

I have lots of sympathy with what you say KiG. I said as much - but less eloquently - when I first signed up.

At it's best ATD is an acerbic balance to pasoti. People are not afraid to question and challenge the perceived wisdom. At its best it puts up an opposition to the 'establishment' in a way that perhaps Private Eye does in another format. At its best ATD is a passionate supporter of Argyle who sees any owner as merely temporary and sees any cabal of uber-supporters as being in it for their own advancement. (In passing, whilst totally acknowledging the excellent work that the Green Taverners plus Sue & her Bucket Rattlers have done, the bulk of the money raised via the auctions have come from contrived extravaganzas that have led to Nikkk putting his hand in his pocket. All power to Nikk & the fact that he has expressly requested his anonymity.)

At it's worst ATD is your nightmare neighbour continually twitching the curtains to see what is going on outside. At its worst ATD is the worst form of village (intentional choice of word) 'tutter' who sees something going on outside and then 'tuts' as a conditioned reflex. In the past they would have written a letter to the local press complaining about the dog shit on the pavements. Instead, nowadays they post a comment on the internet.

ATD both excites & exasperates.

Please continue posting. Be prepared to be challenged. And both of that is good.

Nicely put Knecht, must better than my reply, which is driven by the crap I have had thrown my way.

I apologise for my tone KIG, and I also hope you continue to post on here, but I would really be interested to know the outcome of the conversation you have with Ian and Tony if they are both together!

Ian has told me that he is certainly willing to repeat the claim in front of Tony, who denies it all and says it is because Ian dislikes him over a photograph of Ian's wife in a bikini? affraid Chris Webb was present when all of this was said, and Ian e-mailed me asking to call him one night where he repeated the claim over and over again, during the telephone conversation he recorded! Just to upkeep his filing system he likes to have on people you understand Very Happy

Having worked in telecommunications for years, I do know the sound of a telephone conversation being recorded quite well.

Anyway, please feel free to ask away tomorrow and come back on here and tell us all which one of these upstanding gentlemen is a bare faced liar.

Jock, believe me I have no agenda. I just want to visit an Argyle discussion site that's not being used primarily to attack other people, whoever it may be. I'm calling no one a liar, all I'm saying is that this site is being used to fight personal battles. Why has this site got 377 members and yet very few post on here? Maybe they're happy to look in and view the side show? Who knows?
Yea Man, just a quick look at the Mayflower sees the Danny Salman thread having a pop at Chris Webb and the Says It All thread, while not directly knocking the Senior Greens, is certainly knocking the voluntary side of it.
Knetch, challenge the club yes (although if they're that challenging why didn't any of them stand for the PASB) (or better still, elections for the Trust are coming up) but all I'm saying is that at the moment the site doesn't excite me but exasperates me.
Jock, I took no offence in your tone, Smile but you're asking me to get involved in exactly the thing I'm moaning about on here, personal battles. I'm a man in the middle who wants to talk Argyle, watch Argyle and sleep Argyle.

What I don't get KIG is why Senior Greens have to give their time and efforts to repaint the FPC?

JB said we had a football budget. Has the voluntary work increased that budget? Who knows? Was the refurb already budgeted for? Lets say it was and the volunteers have saved JB a grand. Is there an agreement that this is now transferred to the staff fund? Is it feck.

It seems to me it is no different to me buying a big house and asking the Scouts to wash cars on my driveway to pay my mortgage.

I understand Bob, but you can't say Ian and Tony are being attacked incorrectly when one of them is obviously lying.

It is personal with me due to past events, but also because I love Argyle and have done for nigh on 30 years, and there is something badly wrong with it at the moment.

It's not nice thinking your family is in danger because of a football forum, and it's not nice and not fair that a lifelong fan is removed from the matchday programme just because she isn't liked by the person you are defending.

There probably should be an Ian Newell/dig at Pasoti section that people can choose not to read if they don't like it, but the site is what it is and that's why some love it and some hate it.

A bit like Ian Newell or marmite I suppose Smile

Well, that one is simple... C'mon Jock, you demand the answer from Lee Jameson. But that is something you won't pursue fully.

And I have to ask why not?

You seem more interested in a 'bit' player than the man stroking the white cat...

Try pasoti, there's been no personal attacks on individuals from Newell or Webb, only Argyle is discussed and Tony Cholwell is given the limelight by the mods. There's no hijacking of threads unless it's carried out by a secret alias and if an attempt is made then the thread is conveniently deleted or moved somewhere less public. It seems so much better than ATD.

I've spoken to Lee and got the answers I wanted. Tony on the other hand won't take my calls.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for your view, Bob. The trouble is, you're seeing this as a one way street, when it's anything but.

When I first started posting on here, I was told quite bluntly that if I continued, I wouldn't be welcome at any more Fanfests (this wasn't from any of the GT's, before anyone questions) and that if I did turn up, I should 'watch my back'. Charming, eh? So I don't go to fansfests any more - the threats of violence may be hollow, but it's a bit of pre-match socialising, ffs. If Newell were to make good on his threat, it could turn very ugly, particularly as I'm very unlikely to back down. Still, he feels he wants to control matters to that degree, so I'll take my pre-match refreshment in the Cherry Tree now.

Then there's the small matter of the text messages and phone calls. A lot of us have had them - say anything on here that Newell disagrees with and anyone whose number he has will get the threats, the intimidation and the harassment. It's pathetic, but because it's not done online, in the public domain, it's easy for people like yourself to look upon Newell as some innocent victim. He's anything but - most of the discord between people online is at his instigation. I'm not saying that some on here couldn't do what I'm now trying to do, and just let Newell's worst excesses go, but when you're dealing with a Sociopath (which is what I believe him to be) then ignoring his actions isn't necessarily going to let things calm down.

Remember the 'spoof' (I prefer 'libellous') Argyle Democratic Talk website, the one that labelled various amongst us as Whores, Paedophiles and the like? That was Newell.

Remember the flickr account, with the screenshots of an attempted hack on an ATD user's email, private emails about an ATD user's health issues, an ATD user's facebook status update about his work situation? Newell again.

The attacks on this site from a variety of faked (and genuine) email addresses? Hacking attempts on the site email address and ATD user's personal emails (for the record, I have 4 different email addresses for a variety of uses. The only one that's had a hacking attempt on it was the one I registered on pasoti with. I wonder why?). They were all done by Newell, in tandem with his Useful Idiot, Dane Bunney.

So by all means, Bob, be exasperated at the amount of bandwidth that Ian Newell gets on this site. But don't go thinking that it's done for no reason. If Newell were to have his mobile confiscated and his internet access blocked, this nonsense would stop. He's the root cause of the problem, not the people on this site, who'd like nothing more than to go to games without having threats hanging over them, discuss Argyle (and Mundane, and all the other daft stuff on here) without being intimidated and bullied for doing so other than on pasoti.
