How are you going to persuade James Brent to put more resources/interest into the footballing side of the club?

I don't think that's the sort of question expected of the Gas Board. As far as I can tell, they can go into enormous detail on pasties, song sheets, anything at all off the pitch.

Anything that really matters, however, won't be within the remit of this toothless tiger.

no excuse from the trust not to answer it though i am a member so it would be nice to know they care about real matters and not constant elections.

I don't see the Trust as a body who should be dictating the level of investment from the owner. I'm quite happy for them to work in the background with the community but ready to step in should everything go belly up at club level. It's currently work in progress.

As for PASB, who knows their remit?, even the candidates couldn't/can't/wont answer your question.

trust can ask questions about james brent level of interest in the playing side which evident there is very little. Worth pointing out that everything evolves around the playing side.

Not really bothered about PASB to be honest i dont think anyone is

Well, the Trust should certainly be concerned if the level of investment is reckless. The Football League's 55% rule which restricts League 2 clubs to spend no more than 55% of their turnover on salaries provides a prudent baseline. The question is how close to that the club is running, allowing for the settling of historic debt. Given Argyle's gates, the closer we can afford to run, the more competitive the squad should be.

Personally, I believe Argyle's season will be determined by our use of the loan market. If we can afford and attract the right players, our season could be very positive.

The Trust has invited JB to speak to fans and take their questions before an upcoming home match. We hope he'll be available to do so, and explain his plans for the season ahead.

My only point was it isn't for the trust to 'dictate' how much the owner can or cannot spend. Other than that we're all agreed.

Wish I could truly say 'happy days', ah bollix, Happy Days cheers

I think it should only be a question for the Trust to ask if the future life of the club is at stake owing to a lack of investment, which arguably, it could well be.

i know the trust cant have much if any say in funds and all that that wasn't my point really. My point was for them to ask james brent about his interests in the playing side ie is he aware of how bad we are on the pitch carrying on from last season.

happy days cheers cheers

QUESTION - What are YOU going to do to restore the club to a professional footing rather than the current 'charity' style the club runs in ?????

hint ! by professional i mean an END to volunteers.
a RETURN to PAID work.
a proper person running the club NOT a club president acting as CEO, Club shop manager, fans rep etc etc.

We'll be confirming very soon now that James Brent has agreed to speak to fans before an upcoming game. That will be an opportunity for any supporter to ask questions of him.
