| So Fed wins again, got to be the best tennis player of all time!
Pity for Murray, I've never really understood the antipathy towards him. I reckon he'll win a Grand Slam one day, but possibly not Wimbledon. |

I've thought that for about 3 years now, but times a ticking for him. Federer didn't look like he was on the way down, Djokovic is the same age as Murray and has won a fair few slams, and so has Nadal, who Murray could never beat in the French Open. These three have won, hold on I'm wiki'ing, 29 out of the last 30 grand slams! That's amazing. Federer has 17, Nadal 11 and Djokovic 5 grand slam titles so far, and all 3 look like they could win more. It would have to be the US or Australian Open I reckon, and within the next 2 years, but he has now reached four finals?, in amongst 3 of the greatest players ever, so he has been really unfortunate to be around now. Any other era and he would surely have won a couple by now at least. |

Any other era and he would surely have won a couple by now at least. He is unfortunate to be in this era, however he consistently gets to the last 4 of the Grand Slams and I just think that eventually he'll break through. It would have to be in the next couple of years though. The main thing I think in his favour at the moment is that no younger players are yet challenging the top 4, when younger players start overtaking him in the ranking than I would start worrying that he has missed his chance. |

| I think he was hindered for a while by not having an established coach. It was as though he wanted to stay British and have a British coach, and then used his mother. That can't be as effective as having someone like Ivan Lendl who is his coach now.
Now if you want to start talking about miserable looking fuckers! |

I thought this was quite interesting. Yep! Not behaving like a celeb so he gets a bad reputation. Part of the culture that wants celebs to be 'naughty' or 'nice' so they can fill the front pages with cooing nonsense or outraged condemnation. 'Ordinary' isn't enough. It also isn't enough that he is runner-up at Wimbledon! |
