I am not defending Nige he can be a twat but he was actually asking why the RLNI were in French waters to rescue the immigrants? The French actually watch these overcrowded boats leave their shores they could easily patrol their own shores to stop them leaving but as always any deaths are our fault. The French couldn't care less as long as they leave.

Not just the RNLI but also UK Border Force has also been entering French waters while the frog navy stand idly by.


Of course you can always rely on France to keep their end of a bargain....

The RNLI says it has been "overwhelmed" by a "huge level of support" following accusations its work is assisting migrants.
The lifeboat charity received over £200,000 in donations in 24 hours after it posted rescue footage on social media.
The former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, said it was being used as a "taxi service for illegal trafficking gangs".
Downing Street has praised its "vital work".
The charity said in the same 24 hour period there had been a 270% increase in people viewing volunteering opportunities on its website. It would normally receive up to £7,000 in daily donations.
It follows an outpouring of support after the head of the organisation spoke out on Wednesday about volunteers facing verbal abuse from members of the public for bringing migrants to safety.

Luckily in the real world mostly we are normal caring people, hate wont win.

I blame Brexit, and that isn't tongue in cheek either, since Brexit every single fookin thing is politicised to within an inch of its life, Covid pandemic has been made much, much worse because of it and now the charities are getting dragged into the mire. More unity needed and less rabid keyboard bashing. What amuses me is that the people blaming the death of Joe Cox on the Brexiteers are the worst perpetrators anyone who doesn't follow their polarised views are painted as Facists, Raciists, thick, mental, drug addicts, alcoholics. Of course that ever-changing organisation you 'may' feel inclined to rejoin is now threatening Switzerland with offers they daren't refuse - although the the Swiss Government appear to be putting up a spirited fight in resisting the EU's demands to subjugate themselves to the rules & regs of European Court of Justice. I imagine signing up to that dodgy crock of manure may well plant Swiss feet firmly on some form of slippery slope that leads to "creeping EU accession ?"

We are a sovereign nation now, in charge of our borders, doing deals, we must accept our place and get on with it.

It seems that for mouthy arch socialist Gary lineker, £1.36million from the BBC still isn't enough. Not only is he pocketing a hefty wedge from BT Sport but his bank account has been calculated at £30m. Presumably he feels it's no longer necessary to dine out on bags of crisps. Incidentally, the 'view comments' that accompanies the Mail article are worth perusing.


As ever the vague one fails to voice a comment that might tarnish the EU and it's ruthless attempted armlock on that other sovereign nation Switzerland ? With the hours put in you'd think he'd have time aplenty.

My apologies for going off topic Mr S, but as "rich people" suddenly popped up in a thread about the Mail and Nigel Farage - plus questions like " Why would anyone try and reverse such a fabulously successful enterprise," I felt compelled to mentioned that a fabulously rich Gary Lineker if given the chance, most certainly would.

Yes, but it's still necessary to keep a beady eye on the EU's dealings with the Switzerland - I bet Brussels, as we speak, are formulating a new deal the Swiss can't possibly refuse.
