Carabao Cup EFL Trophy Merged

Argyle have been drawn in Group F of the EFL Trophy for 2020/21, along with Newport County, Cheltenham Town and one further invited club.

Each group currently contains three EFL Clubs with a Category 1 Academy ‘invited Club’ completing the group by means of draw. This draw will take place on Tuesday, 18 August, live on Talksport at approximately 1.30pm.

The EFL Trophy group stage is divided into Northern and Southern sections, with eight groups in each section. Argyle, Newport Country and Cheltenham Town will see their group completed by either one of the following eight invited teams when the next phase of the draw is carried out tomorrow.

Norwich City
Southampton
West Bromwich Albion
West Ham United

Argyle’s specific fixture details will be released once confirmed.

Argyle will kick-off their Carabao Cup campaign with a home fixture against Queens Park Rangers on the weekend of 5 September.

Norwich City have been drawn as Argyle's final opponents for the 20/21 EFL Trophy group stage.

Ryan Lowe's Greens will also face Sky Bet League Two duo Cheltenham Town and Newport County in Group F of the competition, which plays its opening fixture round on either 8 or 9 September.

Each group contains three EFL clubs and a Category 1 Academy invited club - which, last season, saw the Pilgrims face Chelsea.

I think everybody should be concentrating on the league this year and all other comps put off until next year.
