| If you trained for a month you'd be lucky to keep up with him in a 400m with him running his marathon pace, it's insane. |

| Will not be a world record....not a competition race so doesn't count....literally towed around by lots of pacers.....which is basically what Roger Bannister did.....only difference was that Bannister collapsed exhausted....Kipchoge was still running around celebrating afterwards. |

Yeah, this is the crazy part. I remember seeing the end of the Euro champs marathon last year, which was won in 2hrs 10, more or less, and doing some quick maths in my head. That's 3m kilos, or about 75 second 400m! At uni I once managed a 2:30 800m, and I promptly puked in a bin and staggered off on jelly legs. These guys are doing that 53 times over. Makes you realise that you may as well just get down the pub. |

| I got my sister disqualified from a pantathalon national qualifier when I was about 13, she was a National standard Javelin and Discus thrower, she went for the pentathong qualifiers and she was doing her worst bit, can't remember if 400 or 800m but anyway halfway through she was blowing out of her arse (running was my thing never hers) so I ran alongside her giving her a bit of encouragement only for her to be disqualified even though she just edged under the time. Used to get bought up years later. |
