There was not many first team players in this squad last night.

ALEX Fletcher scored twice, and Alex Battle once, as our Carlsberg South West Peninsula League side went to the top of the Premier Division table with a 3-0 win over Millbrook on Friday night.

The Pilgrims needed to be patient and broke through some well-organised resistance only after Peter Grant saw a header cleared off the line and Fletcher was denied by a good save from the visiting goalkeeper.

The goal they had been threatening eventually came a minute from half-time, when Fletcher followed up Battle's cross into the box that was not dealt with by the Millbrook defence.

Millbrook had a spell on top at the start of the second half but the game was swung definitively Argyle's way when Battle scored through a deflected shot from the edge of the box midway through the second half.

Fletcher set the seal on the victory ten minutes from time, following in his own shot which was saved to drive home the rebound.

Argyle: Michael Cooper; Tarafi Moore, Harry Hodges, Dan Rooney, Jordan Bentley, Peter Grant, Alex Battle, Cameron Sangster, Calum Dyson, Alex Fletcher, Luke Jephcott. Substitutes (not used): Max Childs (gk), Ben Musselwhite, Rubin Wilson, Joe Seery.
