Just been to Wales and noticed a couple of things very different from the mother country. Pot holes on the roads are "repaired" obviously a welsh word, by filling up the hole with road like material or even more strangely they have gangs of men called "road workers" who replace whole sections! It's unbelievable. Not only that but in the towns they have "public toilets" these are just like a toilet that you'd have in your home but in towns and open for anyone to use whilst they visit or go shopping. It's like another world.

Undoubtedly. Like all your unfinished motorways and huge viaducts across mountain passes built whilst the poor of Portugall turn the clock back thirty years to subsistence living.

You're right about the motorways. The poor of Portugal are still 'subsistence living'. Some things never change, so long as the haves have, bollox to the have nots, just keep them under control.
Get yourself out in the woods and forests great foraging to be had. The mushrooms (not Skinnys hallucinogens btw) just keep going. After the rain there are loads. Picked a whole hatful of Chanteralles, saw some hedgehog fungi and two huge Cauliflower fungi. The Chestnuts have dropped by the bucketload. I picked a good couple of pocketfuls for some chestnut stuffing that will be going in some Pheasants at the weekend. Love the Autumn.

Planet Earth just doesn't do better weather than warm west country milky Autumnal sunshine. Dreams float and fall to ground among the tired dying leaves.
A pheasant in the garden. Don't often see that in the city although there are more and more in the parks. Must be an October refugee fleeing the carnage I guess.

I get plenty of Pheasants fleeing the carnage on my land. I'm roasting two of them this afternoon with Chestnut stuffing.

I'm not so happy today as I'm working with a bloke that doesn't understand the concept of time or the fact that no one has feck all to do other than wait for them to turn up.
