SCOTT Wootton has become Derek Adams' latest summer signings.

The 26-year-old centre back, with pedigree from Liverpool and Macnhester United, is the ninth player to head to Home Park over the summer months.

Scott's career started at Tranmere Rovers before he moved on to Anfield at age 13. By 16, he was a Red Devil, and would go to captain United's Academy, and claim a regular place in their reserve team.

Wootton headed for loan spells at Tranmere, Nottingham Forrest, and two spells at Peterborough United, as well as playing Gary Neville's Old Trafford Testimonial Match, before he switched across the Pennines to Leeds.

Three years at Elland Road - and a short stop at Rotherham United - later, the defender played last season for Milton Keynes, before being free for Derek to snap up for Argyle.

Welcome, Scott.

So have I, looking for cheap players on football manager, fifa etc.

Here is something for the jizzfest to get excited about

ARGYLE’S latest piece of summer business is a central defender who once cost £1m and has Champions League experience on his CV.

Scott Wootton, 26, is the latest to join the Pilgrims, and comes with impeccable grounding at some of England's biggest clubs.

His career started with Tranmere Rovers before joining Liverpool at 13. He made his under-18s debut for the Reds at just 14. He then swapped the red of Merseyside for the that of Manchester, signing for United in 2007.

Scott became captain of the United Academy side in 09-10, and was promoted to the reserve team the following year. In September of 2010 he re-joined boyhood club Tranmere on an initial one-month loan. He made his debut and scored in a 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Wootton made his first unofficial appearance for Manchester United when he featured in Gary Neville’s testimonial game in 2011. In July, he made a loan switch to Peterborough United and made 11 appearances for them - including a 7-1 debut win over Ipswich - before having his deal cut short in the last week of January.

He then went to the City Ground, Nottingham, and played 13 times for Forest over the course of that season. In September 2012, he made his Manchester United first team debut in a League Cup tie at home to Newcastle.

A week later it got even better for the defender as he made his Champions League debut in a 2-1 win over CFR Cluj when he replaced Jonny Evans in the second half.

In August 2013, Scott joined Championship side Leeds United for a million pound fee. A year later he joined Rotherham in another loan deal, but an impressive run of form for the Millers prompted him to be re-instated at Elland Road.

After 74 games for Leeds, Scott joined Milton Keynes Dons in 2016. Last season he made 47 appearances for them, scoring the latest of his three career goals.

Welcome to Home Park, Scott.

once cost.....

honest question do you think its normal for a club to sign so many players bad injury records and see that as exciting?

The exciting thing is that it appears DA knows what he is doing when signing players. He has improved us year-on-year but lets not allow facts to invade the boring anti-everthing brigade. zzzzzzzzzz Sleep

There the best on the market....all the Germans, Argentinians and Brazilians aren't up to it.

Poor old Derek Adams having to take on board such dreadful players....I'll phone the Club up and do them a good deal on crutches and zimmer frames because they'll need them, you lot have sussed this lot out even before they've kicked a ball....but you did the same last year and they could only manage 7th....not quite the relegation promised by many on here, but what do you lot know anyway.

Simple question for Zyph, Graiser and Tone;

Based on what you know of the in situ squad combined with the new signings,if things did go tits up next season and Argyle struggle who would you think is primarily responsible-Adams or the board?

Hardly depressing, its being realistic, if it works out great, but so far its not looking great when you delve a little deeper some serious injuries on the list not the odd bruised ankle, muscle strain minor kind of thing,

the fact you find that lameness funny speaks volumes. However coming from someone who found a road traffic accident funny its not surprising.

Just to pluck two names at random, how are the careers of David Ijaha and Aaron Taylor Sinclair going these days?

Side tracking.....is my poor English more important than Derek's choice of players for his new squad....just judge them before they get on the pitch....that's more satisfying.

And an honest answer is I’m feeling more optimistic with this squad than last season’s
