AFT wrote:
The Argyle Fans’ Trust was disappointed by the late postponement of today’s Scunthorpe United v Plymouth Argyle fixture.

We accept that inclement weather is something that travelling supporters will always have to deal with, we feel that additional questions arise about today’s events:

1. The weather forecast for Scunthorpe was known in advance and there was discussion as to whether the game would go ahead.

2. It appears that Scunthorpe did not attempt to cover the pitch, as they could have done. Is there a reason as to why no attempt was made to cover the pitch?

3. The referee’s arrival was delayed: the pitch inspection took place immediately he arrived and the game was called off at 1140. Why wasn’t a local referee asked to make an earlier inspection? This could have prevented many of our fans having travelled a long distance before the game was called off.

4. Why was this fixture scheduled for the Easter weekend at all? Bank holidays pose special problems for travelling supporters because of cancelled and reduced public transport, road closures and weight of traffic but the further the journey, the worse the impact can be.

Scunthorpe is the fourth longest trip for Argyle fans. At approximately 318 miles, only Bradford’s 330 miles, Fleetwood’s 325 miles and Blackpool’s 321 miles are further. There are many closer teams in the division which would have been more suitable opponents for a Bank Holiday fixture.

This is not the first time that our travelling supporters have had a long and expensive Bank Holiday away trip pointlessly ruined. Two years ago, motorway congestion led many fans to miss a Good Friday game at Morecambe altogether.

As Argyle supporters make similar journeys to almost every away game during which we clock up an agonising 6021 miles this season, we realise more than anybody the problems that travelling can face . However, in this instance we feel we have been badly let down. Nothing can be done about too much rain but something could, and should have been done to ameliorate the situation.

We call on the EFL and the FA to investigate why the pitch cover was not used , why an earlier inspection was not held and to ensure that Bank Holiday fixtures are arranged in future so as to minimise long-distance travel for supporters of geographically remote teams.

The fans should have all boycotted the game anyway, Scunny vs Akkeron on a bank holiday is plain stupidity not that the feckless dinosaurs that run the FA have any idea where we both reside or give a feck about anything outside the prem including the England setup. FA out.

Another typical, almost political right left routine from the right wing extremists. They hate the trust as much as they love their "betters". Pasotii sees itself as in direct competition with the trust , and always has.

Having said that it was an open goal. Asking pointless questions is errrr pointless. I am yet to see the AFT hold the Argyle owners to account in the role of the critical friend/peer. Concentrate on them. It certainly does feel like almost a publicity "we're doing something", but then that's how it is when you've been in disarray over the last couple of years. I don't think I've ever agreed before with those clowns over the road but I do on this, albeit I wish the new AFT all the best.
One says something over there  and they all fall in line to a man. The green army indeed.LOL
Oh, and I'd rather be pompous than racist, Mr reprah

God forbid I ever agree with the fake Yankee Deliar but he makes a good point that the fixture has been known since June 2017 and nobody mentioned the distance before

So what?

Would the FL have re-arranged the fixture? Almost no chance of that whatsoever.

Is there a chance they could make friendlier decisions in the future? Possibly.

Seriously, I don't get why being a bank holiday has any relevance. The game has got to be played at some time during the year. There are twaffic hold ups across the country on bank holidays, and any game can be affected, long distance or nearer to home.
Covering the pitch is quite a separate matter, but can't see any joy on that one.

Come on Beezy there is a greater chance of getting naused up in traffic the further you go, bank holidays are particularly busy a stupid day to travel to the other end of the country on.

Damned if we do complain and damned if we don't. The phone calls, texts and emails I have received from fellow supporters in the last 24 hours suggests that we were right.

Yes its only the thug Newell unleashing his dogs of wor on JBSOTI that are deliberately muddying the waters. Everyone else appreciates the sentiments

Real fans support Brent first, club second and are anti trust.

But lots of other clubs are travelling long distances on, say, the M6, which is probably the worst roadd over the past couple of years. But getting caught in twaffic isn't the issue here, as you well know. It's the weather and Scunthorpe's miserable attempts to mitigate it.
Was there any Aussie-like tampering going on ? It does go on, in fact our very own Del boy decided to narrow the pitch last season because he felt it gave Argyle an advantage. All clubs play this sort of game. If the boot were on the other ferrrrt, most Argyle fans would be saying it was a master stroke. It's all a bit disingenuous.
Nothing will change, there's a reason why bank holiday games are rarely local football derbies anymore, and it all goes back to the hoolie thing, maybe even the mods and rockers before that on sea fronts. They will not admit it, but that reasoning trumps everything. It's workers' playtime and they will do everything they can to dissipate any large energy. It's an industry image thing. They don't want huge away numbers congregating. Blimey, Brent doesn't really want any away fans unless they are accompanied by a vetted child.

The Pasoti Dictator and the odious Fwank Harper leading the attack on the Democratic aft is laughable, i would far rather have a Trust led club than the Akkeron nightmare we have now.

Indeed, the Trusts job is not to Brown nose Brent, but to look out for the best long term interests of the club. Some good news for the trust though Mike Dumpalot of the senior Brents is not renewing his membership cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers

You did the right thing. Argyle Fans are pissed off because of the events leading up to the postponement. You are just asking questions on behalf of those fans.

Brent fans don’t give a feck about Argyle or their fans. Ignore them - the cultists haven’t noticed their Kool Aid tastes funny.
