Mathews was cheap and available that ticks all the Akkeron boxes, whether he's any good  or not is immaterial.

I know he was at fault for the goal at Pompey and might've done a bit better on a couple yesterday but from what I've seen he's an upgrade on McCormick.

Yeah, overall he looks a good player. He'll drop a few clangers, and as the goalie he's under a particular spotlight. Players at this level will always do that though - that's why they're at this level.

More worrying is the lack of midfield reinforcements, and whether Bradley, who I thought was poor, and the new lad click. The good run was built off being tough to break down, with a bit of creativity from Carey and Lamerias. As turgid as that could be, it was effective.

Wigan clearly a very good unit coming off the back of thrashing a Premiership side midweek. However Mathews looked at fault in varying degrees on each of the goals, but more so the Akkeron defence was static in each situation. The Bristol lad looked a bit naïve in some of his positioning but hey he's pretty young learning his trade, am sure he will come good.
Did'nt go to game just looking at the highlights. Still prefer Mathews to the flapping Superluke should be looking at getting a permanent deal providing he doesn't regularly feck up and Akkeron Argo don't get relegated.
