He may be young and not many games under his belt but either way welcome to HP young man. His tribunal fee when he moved from AFC Wimbledon to Hull was quite high considering other fees that have been set.

It's not helping our plight not having a settled keeper but welcome to the new lad anyway, look after yourself Bhey.

Yep. Still made a howler though that cost the game. That's how he'll see it. So embarrassing, especially when you've chirped a bit in the press, taken the plaudits etc of a couple of good performances.
Felt sorry for him. Young man saying how he came down here to put himself in the window as it were, get some games, and then that happens. He's played very well, and far better than old man superfluke, but he must be ruing his decision to try and dribble it our or whatever.

To be fair to the boy he was at the prawn sarnie event after the match and said he was gutted for the howler and was very apologetic, comes over as a nice bloke and other than that has not put a foot wrong and kept us in several games.

Agree far better than the ageing Superluke in an ideal world Remi would sign on a permanent contract.

That's what I'm saying. He's a nice boy. He's played very well by all accounts. When you're in the spotlight, the odd microphone gets shoved in yer face, there's a lot of pressure. If I were his mentor or whatever, I would advise him to take a week or two off, get your head together, and then ask to come back. I can't see any of the other four wanting the poison chalice at this time, nor does Adams want them to.

Who would be a goalkeeper for a team bottom of the table. He obviously sees a career for himself higher up than the bottom feeding Akkeron. Sometimes you have to take stock and ask whether you're losing more than you're gaining. Some prospective suitors higher up the food chain might see the howler and not the other stuff.

Not seeing your logic really Bees? Hell get ten times more experience saving shots in Argyles goal than most other teams, ten games must be worth a season.

But he doesn't need that sort of experience as he clearly is a bit of a cat in goal already in the Pat Dunne mould. It's what is in his head that could put him back. Who needs the practice of picking the ball out of the net, especially when you are not even part of the club or squad, as it were ?
Don't forget, this is a praaapper emergency loan, hoiked off down to the muff at a moment's notice. Tesco give you more notice.
I'll tell you something else. He might just wonder what on earth is going on. Four keepers out for weeks ?!! Come on. Wouldn't you wonder if you were risking more than you were gaining, and all for Akkeron ?

Not that fussed. He was crap against Oxford and cost Argyle the game at Portsmouth, instant hero because he saved a penalty at Bradford. Good luck to him but not that great a loss, hope the new guy proves to be better.

And there above is exactly why this young man should go back and stick a finger up to Akkeron.
Talk about on a hiding to nothing, and Skinny's comment just shows how much appreciation is out there for guys to turn up at a moment's notice ..... none whatsoever.
Far more to lose than to gain, and just a takeaway keeper to be disposed of as it suits. I don't think  there should be any such thing as an "emergency loan" system. Professional clubs have enough income to have cover, and always used to manage. The truth is all of Adams' cover is "not up to standard, and the keeper thing has been discussed on here for a very long time. Four injured souls out for weeks, or even months. I don't believe it. I think Brent and Adams are cheating. Mathews was being used, with Skinny giving the "real world" thank you from the Home Park faithfull. Charming.

And I'll say one more thing. Much was made of whether a defence can function well with a new keeper and a lack of understanding. Well, the converse also applies as to whether the keeper's duties are compromised by lack of time with the defence in front of him. The howler illustrates just that problem. I wouldn't put my career and reputation on the line under such cowboy circumstances.

How delightfully sentimental. Hypocritical though, can't ever remember you expressing similar kind thoughts about people like Alan Judge who came to Argyle on loan [maybe even at a moments notice] and did a pretty good job, in spite of your almost obsessional assertions to the contrary. Anyway, my previous post was just an expression of an opinion on his merit as a goalkeeper not on his merits as a human being,an opinion which may well be flawed but was certainly formed from a considerably closer distance than that of your good self. Did you see the shaky handling and ability to leave gaps at the near post in the Oxford match? As I also said previously good luck to him and thanks very much, just don't think that his absence will be that crucial if the new guy proves to be competent.

I suppose Bees would Argue that warming Norichs bench is better experience than getting 25 shots a game fired at you,for him it's experience and game time simple as. As for the conspiracy I love a good one, think this is a shite one, we've just had a lot of injuries, we've seen the same happen to our strike force before why not the keepers, just like waves or cyclical things I 'spect?

I can't find any post of mine on Alan Judge, but there you go.
As it happens, Alan Judge came down here on an eyes wide open long loan/contract, in fact two of them. He wasn't shipped down on 24 hours notice as a stop gap to cover for bad planning and lack of staff cover. He also knew he was staying for the duration of said contract, so he could always have a chance to redeem mistakes. Unlike Mathews, who could be returned out of date within a week. Grapes of wrath. Best back where he has some control over his future employment prospects.

The turnover of our goalkeepers this season remind me of the drummers that played for Spinal Tap.
