Since Dawson got permission for his place up by Derriford, and since Akkeron have said the 200+ office workers won't move in before the Forder Valley relief road opens, I think they had little option.

Doesn't resolve the parking issues though, or the ACV, or the trees, or the obscenity of a HUGE office block in a park.

Brent supporters on JBsoti thinking they have a 'victory' over Argo supporters. But Argo supporters will have the last laugh when this 'development' ends up the same as all brent's other 'developments'.

Orgasmic Ollie:-

Fantastic news!

So that's parking and facilities for disabled supporters sorted and agreed with PADSA. Traffic impact concerns now met as far as Highways England are concerned.

That's two of the arguments against dealt with; the usual suspects are quickly running out of excuses to be against the plans. Unless they'll be along shortly to give them their full backing and the Trust will be withdrawing its objection as soon as possible? I won't hold my breath

Detractors aside all seems to be coming along nicely, the board/project team are quietly working away behind the scenes to give the plans the best chance come the hearing date. Hopefully planning approval is now but a rubber stamp and building is on the horizon.

Nailed it Freathy the useless cnut could have planning permissions galore but he'll never find the builders merchant.

Newell and his rat pack gloating as per normal yet not one of the simpletons have asked the basic question, wheres the money coming from James.....for an Ice Rink for a Gymnasium for a Vets for a Massive office block.....??  Oh hell I forget a feckin hotel as well.....have seen estimates between 50 million and a 100 million and yet this repulsive red nosed soak of a Chairman doesnt have the money to even do basic maintenance to the stadium and everyone of his other businesses run at a loss

Any alarm bells going Newell that you've been owned from outset once again....

He is going to build feck all.

He will get planning permission so that he can sell the Pavilions for £5.5 million. The new owner of Pavilions will then develop HHP with little sympathy for the football club.

The James Brent fans will be celebrating his improved bank balance as if it were a champions league win.

Us Argyle fans will continue to support whatever is left of the club.

I reckon Frank has nailed it here except the Pavillions guy will only develop the HHP site leaving the vets as an eyesore that doesn't get funded for years, in fact don't be surprised to see PCC step in to save their golden boys.

Newell thinks it's 20 people opposing Brent
Nearly everyone I speak to about this are apathetic because they have heard it all before and there's a history of feck all being built. I must add most don't bother with argyle Internet sites these people are everyday folk

The city has several parcels of land that have planning permission for large scale development and are just passed around as inflation proofed land banking assets. As I type, one in particular, is in the process of changing hands for the third time in 8 years. It has been left to ruin, rats and the ubiquitous fly-tipping since being flattened by Hitler 75 years ago, and no one has come close to building on it since despite the granted permissions. Disgraceful.

Which site is that ?

I wonder why the sudden change of heart by Highways england? A pay off ? A promise of future works without tender process?

something must have happened. Ive heard on the grapevine that Brent is about to buy in to Exeter Chiefs.

Talking of redevelopment and stands Shitty have just started demolishing their 90yr stand to build a new one - good luck to them but their not held back by a shyster who views a football club purely as a vehicle to set up projects to benefit himself.

Planning was always going to be granted and Frank's correct. All planning approval will do is enhance the value of the land and guarantee Brent a greater profit margin.

I wonder how long the delay has to be before the Ollie's of this world begin to wonder why they don't have a shiny new grandstand.

There can be no excuse for not immediately undertaking the grandstand refurb as soon as the planning approval goes through. If not, that is what Brent should be hammered on.

Have no doubt that he will shunt the Pavilions for a vast profit, whilst simultaneously putting responsibiity for 'continuous ice' in the hands of another but what's to be done about that? Nada. That's what.

If the fecker doesn't start spending Hallett's cash on the ground though, major questions need to be asked.

Why? Hallett gets the interest, Akkeron get the profits and Argo get feck all. A perfect result, no need for questions.

So in Theory this should be going out to tender ASAP, contractor moves in after last home game of the season and gets on with it.

Bit like spurs did - next morning the contractor was ripping down the stands of white hart lane
