Not enough Dutch police available apparently.

Anyway, I'm sure Lord Jim and Sir Starnes will be falling over themselves to give refunds.

Surely our club would have spoken to Steve Pooley or whoever heads up football liaison these days, ahead of arranging pre season friendlies abroad?

One - piss off, I've hardly posted or logged in since May.

Two - how is this stretching it? I don't see other clubs organising a tour and then finding games cancelled or rearranged at short notice. This isn't the first time. Another example of the club being all too village.

ARGYLE are inviting all supporters who missed out on seeing the Pilgrims play during the club’s summer camp in Holland to meet manager Derek Adams and his players at a special training session.

A number of the Green Army booked trips to the Netherlands at the same time Argyle were there in July so that they could see the Pilgrims’ games against FC Emmen and FC Twente.

Their plans – and those of the Pilgrims – were thwarted when the mayors of the respective regions in which Emmen and Twente play called the matches off at very late notice. Although Argyle eventually played two games, they were both behind closed doors with no admission to the public.

As a thank-you to those fans for their support, and in recognition of the disappointment they will have felt, Derek has invited them to the first-team’s training session on the morning of Thursday, August 17.

Supporters who missed out in Holland will be able to attend by presenting any booking or cancellation record of their summer trip to the staff in the Home Park Superstore on the morning of the session.

They will be given a voucher which they can then use to gain admission to the club’s Harper’s Park training-ground for the session, which will begin at 10.30am and last at least an hour.

The public session is the first of two that the club is planning to host during August, with final touches being put on an Open Day at Home Park before the end of the school holidays.

So, fans/sheep/elite greens, who paid out a lot of money to watch Argo in clogsville, are to be compensated by the way of admission to a training session!

It's so shambolic and the fans are held in such contempt, I'm here laughing my tits off. Either that or just give the feck up on the whole two-bit amateur, tin pot, non-league-esq excuse for a football club.

I'm off to the pub.FFS.

Surely the only way to truly compensate them is to give them few entry to 2 matches with the full directors box experience.

Unless they're worried about there not being enough seats or prawn sarnies to go round.

Still no admission from the club for the REAL reason the games were cancelled, and just blaming other folk as usual, in this case Dutch Mayors and their councils who certainly didn't want their towns upset in mid Summer by the hoolies that followed Argyle over last year. Brent seems to make a habit of blaming the local council, wherever they may be
Yes, the Dutch fans were no angels but there was orchestration right from the start with Argyle fans. A friend of mine and long time Argyle fan lives over there and popped along to one of the matches, and got caught up in it. He just happened to get a train back to his home city that included some of the Argyle young tatt that had gone over purely for the ruck. Full of it apparently, they were.
You would have thought the club would have learned it's lesson, especially considering Brent's headline desire for good reputation, but no, far easier to play the victim yet again.

So having needlessly taken time off work and coughed up the best part of Two Large to watch a Third Division squad do shuttle runs for a couple of hours a day without any competitive matches. Now supporters are being offered a chance to take more time off work, possibly to watch set piece routines

No mention of partial refund, offer of hospitality or anything that actually costs the club money.

This club takes the piss.
