GC has a vision of where he wants to go in his career and he hasn't got long to get there. So if, for example, he had the same offers on the table from us, Sheff Utd and Cardiff then what would be the best decision for him? From my camp, to achieve his aim, I would say Sheff Utd. A club in the Championship and on a roll. Is it just money?

Given he is unlikely to lift the European Cup with either of those two outfits I would say yes, yes it is all about money.

For the above to happen they need to conclude the situation ASAP to give the manager time to weigh up targets
There's no fee though - out of contract. I agree with your comment ''Wont be the end of the world if he goes ... '' and DA has probably got players lined up. But whatever happens all Argyle can do is move on and I have trust in DA to get it right.

Hes out of contract ? ONly argyle would allow their star players contract to run down jocolor jocolor jocolor jocolor jocolor

Brent is not the brightest spark, and he doesn't believe in the shop floor, and that investing in staff is where success is made. He thinks success will come from encouraging a bunch of corpulents to scoff their way through Monday to Saturday. TAny money made will still not be invested in the playing staff. It's the new glass ceiling. Enjoy.

I can't get too worked up about throwing the book at the board for Carey leaving. Players leave, it happens. If you were his agent, you would have been telling him to sign nothing during the season, as there was money to be made in the summer.

If he leaves and he isn't properly replaced, then yeah, get the hump. But players having a good season or two and getting themselves the best deal possible is hardly worthy of any angst, is it?

brent is to blame for only allowing those stupid short term contracts and not allowing del bhet to sign good players on better deals.

we will see this happen again next season with Bradley and Threlkeld.

This club will go nowhere under Brent and his inept cronies, I am resigned to that.
One day things will change.

A link to Carey's daughter's YouTube page has been put on pasoti (and someone refers to it on fb freechat). In the comments section in several of her videos she stated that he is leaving.

I think her page will be bombarded with comments shortly (she looks around 10-12 years old). No doubt the Herald will run a story on it.

You cannot believe what these Argyle so call fans on AFC facebook, chasing a 10 year old girl for info. wrong girl to my knowledge CC has one 2 year old who I did see walking around Central Park in the evenings early this year. CC is 28 year old, to have a ten year old child now, he must have to been 18 year old at the time of her birth.

It's been well publicised that the club twice wanted to open contract talks with Carey before Christmas and the player refused.
Whatever the length of any players contract, if that player refuses to enter into talks during the final year of his contract, the clubs powerless, isn't it ?

Which is why they should have sold him in january rather than again let a key player walk for free same with Nelson last year.

Carey pretty much gave up from jan so cashing in would have been sensible and smart. Sure we wouldn't have got what he was worth to us given he had 6 months left on his deal but something is better than nothing in those situations.

As ive said already those shit deals brent offers players 1 year with an optional 1 yet extension backfire in the long run with key players and we will be here this time next year discussing bradley and threlkeld walking away for free.

Always had the feeling that Carey's one of those players that licks his finger and holds it up against the wind. There's too many times when he doesn't fancy it and subsequently goes AWOL.
Championship might be beyond him and would need to be in one of the better teams in League One to excel.
Whatever club he decides on it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they weren't offering him back on loan come Christmas.

Short contracts do not foster long term commitment, in any profession.

That's correct.....but a player who believes in his ability would be happy not to be tethered by a contract that ties him to a club for to long.

Lesser players are very happy to sign a 2 or 3 year contract giving them the insurance of a longer term of employment.

You must have been watching a different Carey to the one appearing before my eyes. Carey had a comparatively indifferent spell around Christmas time last year, but comparatively is the operative word-still managed to make match winning contributions in some of the games even if overall performance levels were slightly down. No player can turn it on like a tap and form inevitably fluctuates over a period of 46 games-in most of those games, Carey's work rate was excellent and the figures of 15 goals and however many assists speak for themselves. Class player and if he does move, sincerely hope that your prediction of being back at HP is correct. Classic case of not appreciating what is already there until it goes IMHO-same syndrome as the staggering under appreciation among some supporters of Hourihane before he went.

Then when Adams cashes in on his reputation, we can get Luggy back and unearth some wee nuggets.lol

Dear oh dear........... England's most village, city football club. Nothing changes. Years of the dimwitted janner loving, investment managers to endure.Cans of beer, pasties n Dave Banana. Hope I'm still alive when they're eventually gone. I'm actually in the area early September and could catch the MKD game at the Theatre of Schemes on my way home. Nahhhhh ! The club is an insult to intelligence and a vexation to the soul................unless you're an Aviva.

Ability wise he's clearly a cut above anything else we've got. I agree with Rollo on the consistency issue though, however, were it not for that he wouldn't be wallowing around in the lower leagues at his age.

We got a fee for Nelson, can't remember exactly what it was but it apparently it made Oxford cough a bit, as for Carey, can't agree he went missing from January onwards, but I agree he does have a tendency to do that at times, however if Argyle had sold him in January (assuming he wanted to go then) ATD and the rest of the argyle related websites would have been in meltdown and Brent, Starmes, the ballboys and every other Argyle employee would have been well covered in the brown stuff.
We've got to face it, players call the shots these days and not the clubs, we're the loyal idiots as we'll always be there, the players won't, their loyalties are for themselves.
