PostSubject: Argyle Fans' Trust respond to plans for redeveloped Home Park grandstand    Fri Jan 13, 2017 12:24 pm

THE ARGYLE Fans' Trust have welcomed the announcement of new plans for the redevelopment and expansion of the grandstand at Home Park.

The Trust have also thanked the Argyle board of directors, and Simon Hallett in particular, for their ongoing commitment to the club.

Hallett is providing £5 million in funding, £4.1m by way of a long-term loan and £900,000 in the further purchase of shares, to completely finance the project.

A Trust statement said: "The new plans for the grandstand to be substantially refurbished, thus keeping the essence of the 1952 Archibald Leith construction as well as the iconic 1930s facade, are to be applauded.

"Yes it is a cheaper option, but one that will retain some of the unique features of Home Park, rather than replicate so many other soul-less new builds around the country."

The statement added: "The AFT note that an invitation is being issued for fans to submit their resumes to join a working group to consult with the club on the development of these plans.

"This we have already done in the spirit of furthering our dialogue with the club.

"We urge supporters to join the Trust in order to let us have their views to put to the working party and to come along to our AGM at 6.30pm on Saturday in the Life Centre for further discussion on the future of our club."
