I see that plans are shortly being announced for the new grandstand,

Is this a new stand ? a refurb or an upgrade?

The story says that its not a refurb but its not a new build either so what is it ?

I' read that twice and still have no idea what he's going on about. It's waffle, which somehow the 'Erald have squeezed an article from.

Whatever it is, I can guarantee it will be

A) shit
B) treated by PASOTI as though Brent is building a replica of the San Siro there

By Hallett in the article "It will achieve a lot of the objectives of the much bigger plan that we had before.

So it's a smaller plan.......

From what Hallett says in the article it sounds as if the ground will be remortgaged to fund this......

Sounds like piffle and nonsense but prepared to wait and see. Potentially an improvement on the mini-stand notion if it actually increases our capacity whilst not hemming us in with commercial gubbins and a dentist for all time...

I read that article with a mixture of despair and relief. Despair that they are going to attempt some shitty hybrid revamp that will undoubtedly be the epitome of 'cheap'. But there is a sense of relief that it will obviously be so shite that it's permanency should be limited, and at some point somebody with real belief and vision will come in and do things properly - post-Brent.

At least we know now why Adams is trying to get us promoted on a mid-table playing budget.

The supposed increase in capacity is also a smokescreen. When the club talk about an increase in capacity, they don't talk in real terms of the capacity available to them should they choose to utilise it - which includes the Mayflower area. You can bet your life their 'increase' will be on the capacity currently encompassing the Grandstand area only.

You just know it'll be cheap small woeful and village. It's the Brent way.

how can they big up plans for the new stand after the disaster of hhp and how bad the reaction to the small purpose built stand was going to be.

build seating over the terrace, new facilities behind new seats after ground floor removed, spruce up upper tier....

I will wait until I see the plans. I am a fan of low level development and would be hapy for a revamped stand and corners filled in. That would give 20000 t o 23000. But it has to be a proper refit. I sense a spliting of the stadium from the HHP car park and that could sell trouble down the line.

Was it Dan Mc who started idea for extended roof over seats on Mayflower Terrace? Doubt this will even go that far.

Temporary stand seats back on Mayflower, gutting the ground floor to give more posh covers and same cramped seats with restricted views up top.

Any corner extension at bpe end ruled out by FPC refurbishment.

Didn't Brent just a few weeks ago say there would be nothing more said about redevelopment at Home Park until there were 'concrete plans' to reveal?

Only a while back they were saying the grandstand was full of asbestos ..concrete plans more pie in the sky schemes from the reluctant one you ask me

I wouldn't worry about any cheap half arsed refurbishment of the mayflower happening. Thankfully even that will be way beyond brent and his akkeron outfit to deliver.
