PostSubject: Trust AGM 19th November   Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:59 am

Rumour has it that the AGM will be held on the 19th November. I am in Plymouth that weekend so I shall be attending if the AFT can be bothered to organise the meeting. I thought I would revisit the minutes from the last AGM to see what was said:

http://www.argylefanstrust.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/AGM_Minutes211115.pdf

Bob wrote:
BF confirmed that there were 20+ AFT
members in attendance, making the AGM
quorate and therefore official as an AGM.

This might be a challenge considering only 3 board members and 5 fans turned up to the last meeting, and that there has been no mention of this years AGM so far.

Bob wrote:
BF explained that we would be looking for
future input from our members with ideas and
ways in which we can help serve the fans of
PAFC. We as a Trust would be looking to
represent our members and seek guidance
where necessary

This is clearly not happening. I will be asking for a progress report on the fund raising idea I submitted to the board at the start of the year.

AFT wrote:
We are delighted that this year our
membership has steadily grown to over 1,000.

Hopefully there will be some discussion as to why membership has dropped to 800 and why there are so many lapsed members.

AFT wrote:
The chair has tried to interact with fans
not only from our membership, but also via
PASOTI and ATC, to share concerns and
questions with the CEO. More recently the
chair has begun a series of regular updates to
all our members.

Bob's interaction on ATD has been disastrous and he has done nothing but damage the image of the AFT and cause fans to leave the Trust. It was not unnoticed that this coincided with his well publicised meeting with Nool. How many ATD members have been "blacklisted" similar to former member "Sir John Hawkins" after Nool briefed Bob on their identities and history?

AFT wrote:
We have campaigned for a replacement
for the much missed Far Post Club. We were
pleased after months of canvasing on this issue
that JB relented at an Open Fans’ Forum and
agreed that it would be a good idea. We have
been assured that the club and the Green
Taverners are in advanced negotiations to
provide a temporary fans’ suite, but not until
the New Year.

Which New Year??????? Events of the past year clearly show that the club lied to the AFT about the whole issue.

AFT wrote:
Some of the issues we have raised have been
contentious, such as seeking clarification over
the role of the club president, but have been
asked as a direct result of our members’
queries.

It was only contentious on Pasoti. Bob later admitted he was "naive" in asking the question - despite a poll on ATD that showed 100% support in asking the question.

Bob wrote:
I want to be absolutely clear that the AFT is not
a fund raiser for James Brent or PAFC. However
I believe that the Trust needs to maintain a high
profile both with our members and the wider
community of fans. We cannot simply appear
on the horizon should the club end up in the
wrong hands or indeed go back into
administration. Rather we have to be seen to
be effective in what we are doing in the here
and now.

Thank you for your support and constructive
criticism. I personally have learnt some lessons
over the first nine months of my chairmanship
which I hope will stand me in good stead for
the next nine months

Bob said that he believes the Trust needs to maintain a "high profile". I don't think I really need to comment ANY further on that.

Bob wrote:
BF reported membership figures as follows:
Number of Shareholding members = 870
Junior members = 150
Total = 1020
Lapsed members 877

BF reported (in response to a question from a
member) that we would be looking for a total
of around 1500 members in the following 12
months.

I think its going to be a struggle to reach 1500 members! Bob has continually quoted that the AFT has 1000+ members, despite the fact that numbers are dropping and no attempt is being made to increase membership. Bizarre.

The minutes also mention numerous good works that the AFT conducted in 2015, be it fundraising or raising issues on behalf of fans. It will be interesting to see how much has been done this year in comparison.

Great shout Pat. The parallels here are frighteningly real.

One is essentially a nice guy, but he really shouldn't be leading his organisation.

The other is a proper twat.

You could be forgiven for thinking that they had disbanded, I'm out.

Normally it's written in the constitution that you must give four weeks notice for a agm. seeing as we have passed that date I think I must agree that the trust has disbanded.

sad times indeed.

An Election Management Committee should have been established, as in previous years, to oversee the administration of the Board election. Any news on that as maybe the first step forward?

I'm sure Celia was thinking 2017. Busy old month for me normally, but I'd do my best to make it.

It's strange...  But queries from this website go unanswered for long periods of time and many are just totally ignored and never get a response...   ..and yet, it seems whenever Postcody pops up with a question, there is an answer within a few hours.

Meetings will again be taking place?

Annually? Quarterly? Monthly? As and when Messrs Starnes and Brent can be bothered?

Once again there are more questions than answers.

Bob is too spineless to come on here now. He knows that he cannot defend his abysmal performance as chair of the AFT. To be honest it's probably a good thing because every time he opens his mouth he makes the AFT look more inept and is just damaging them further.

Their inability to organise an AGM is beyond belief. Considering they need 3 new board members you would have thought they would be making as much noise as possible to drum up some interest amongst the fanbase.

If things are that bad why doesn't ATD shut down this section of the website and move on.
