Old Argyle photo

Apologies if this has been posted before. If so I didn't seen it.
I came across it on the Brent herald site.
No sure of the year of the photo but guessing it was shortly before Tony Waiters left as I think they played in that Pilgrim kit when Mike Kelly was in charge.
Don't know the man on the left of the photo but to his right possibly Dave Sutton (?) Paul Barron, Mick Horswill, Neil Ramsbottom, Tony Waiters & Brian Hall.

The one on the left is Keith Blunt who was assistant under Waiters.

He lost his battle with cancer a couple of months back

God,forty years ago-only seems like yesterday we were queuing up at the standpipes for our water.Good photo but i think the man in the middle is Doug Collins,not Mick Horswill.The incomparable Waiters,yet another man who had it in him to take the club to the first division but sold down the river by the board,can still feel the bile rising in my throat now.

That is not Mickey Horswill in middle. Doug Collins sounds good though wouldn't have got him unless Greenskin hadn't said it

Too short for Micky Horswill, I don't think the guy on the left is Dave Sutton either. Definitely 1976 as that was when Barron joined us as before Waiters left

I think you're right.Not sure if he ever played for the first team,came on a free from somewhere-looks like the photo could be a roll call of pre season signings,Hall and Collins definitely signed around about the same time.

Having studied GoS I agree about Doug Collins although I can't remember him at all.
Dave Sutton seems wrong too & again after looking at the team photos on GoS it looks like it may be Nigel / Neil Penhinick. A name i vaguely recall.

I was away when the ciderman was about, but for me Waiters best argyle manager, Luggy second.

Nigel Menhenick was a St Budeaux bhey, used to go to Bull Point Primary
